If you're struggling for something to watch, why not stick on this series which has been dubbed the 'crime thriller of the year'?

The six-part show, which was released on 17 July, is currently dominating Netflix's global chart as it has proved such a hit with fans.

Viewers have been heaping praise on the show - which stars the likes of Eric Bana, Sam Neill, Rosemarie DeWitt, Lily Santiago and Wilson Bethel - in the days since it dropped.

It's been the number one show on Netflix in a whopping 76 countries around the world this week, with 24.6 million tuning into the gripping series.

According to those who have already binge-watched it, it gets off to a great start - as the opening scene has been 'one of the best, most attention-grabbing' intros people have ever had the pleasure of watching.

Fans have also said the six-part drama, which is centred around a murder which takes place at Yosemite National Park, only gets better from there on out, too.

Untamed follows Kyle Turner (Bana), who is a special agent in an elite branch of the National Parks Service, as he investigates a brutal death at the tourist hotspot in California.

But his detective work ends up leading him on a 'collision course with the dark secrets within the park, and in his own past', according to Netflix.

Take a look at the trailer here:

Mark L. Smith, who created the show alongside his daughter Elle Smith, said of the series: "Everyone thinks of Yosemite as this beautiful place with all the vistas and all the scenery, but we were trying to touch on the dangers that are just beyond that. I love stripping all the cheats away, stripping all the more modern tools that people can use.

"It really gets down to the character and what they can find within themselves."

Untamed has got such a good reception that people are already calling on Netflix to churn out a second series...and stat, as most people have already blitzed through the six episodes.

One social media user wrote in a post on X: "Untamed on Netflix is sooo good. Please give us season 2."

Another added: "Untamed on Netflix is probably one of the better shows I’ve seen lately! So, so well done."

A third commented: "Untamed needs a second season. It’s a great show," while a fourth chimed in: "I’m 60 seconds into Untamed on Netflix and my entire body is sweating."

Others described the mystery thriller as 'ridiculously good', while people also pointed out the series was chock-a-block with 'really gorgeous visuals' of Yosemite National Park...even though it was actually filmed in Canada.

But that's neither here nor there, as the series featuring Bana, Neill, DeWitt, Santiago and Bethel is said to be that good.

Sharing his excitement for the debut of Untamed, Black Hawk Down star Bana wrote in an online post: "My new 6 part series Untamed is now ready to be watched on Netflix.

"Super proud of the beautiful work by all on this. Solve the mystery, and enjoy the epic locations. I really miss that horse."

Untamed is available to stream on Netflix now.
