Where you’ve seen Fool Me Once star before as viewers complain they can’t place it

Viewers spotted a familiar face but couldn't quite place it

Fool Me Once fans spotted a familiar face in the character Caroline, even though plenty of them couldn’t place her

Harlan Coben’s latest Netflix adaptation landed on the streaming platform on New Year’s Day and soon flew into the ‘most watched’ list. You can see a trailer here:

The eight-part series centres on grieving widow Maya Stern (Michelle Keegan) who is trying to come to terms with the murder of her husband, Joe Burkett (Richard Armitage).

Following the funeral, Maya is given a nanny cam so she can keep an eye on her two-year-old daughter Lily (Thea Taylor-Morgan).

However, when inspecting the footage, Maya is shocked to see Joe in the house, playing with Lily.

As well as plenty of twists and turns, Fool Me Once has an impressive cast and this is where you may have seen them before.

Michelle Keegan (Maya Stern)

Keegan plays the central character who has her life turned upside down when her other half is brutally murdered.

The 36-year-old star previously appeared in Coronation Street and has also starred in Our Girl and more recently the hit sitcom Brassic.

Richard Armitage (Joe Burkett)

Joe only appears in the show in flashback sequences, due to the fact that he’s bumped off prior to the events featured in the series.

You may recognise the actor who plays Joe from previous Coben adaptations The Stranger and Stay Close, he’s also starred in the Netflix mini-series Obsession.

Emmett J. Scanlan (Shane)

Maya’s protective pal Shane initially had many viewers thinking he may be the bad guy, until the real killer was revealed.

Scanlan has a lengthy career, after making a name for himself in Hollyoaks, playing bona fide bad guy Brendan Brady, he’s also appeared in Derry Girls, Peaky Blinders and Kin.

Dame Joanna Lumley (Judith Burkett)

Joe’s protective mother Judith Burkett isn’t a big fan of her daughter-in-law and was happy to keep plenty of secrets from her.

In real life, the actor who played her barely needs an introduction - the 77-year-old is best known for playing Patsy Stone in Absolutely Fabulous, but has also appeared in Me Before You, The Wolf of Wall Street and The Picture of Dorian Grey.

Viewers 'couldn't place' the actor who played Caroline.

Adeel Akhtar (Detective Sergeant Sami Kierce)

The detective tasked with tracking down Joe’s killer has plenty of his own problems on his plate.

Meanwhile, viewers said they struggled to take him seriously in the role after realising that he played Faisal in the cult British comedy Four Lions. Yep, that's him. He has also starred in Murdered by My Father, Utopia and Killing Eve.

Hattie Morahan (Caroline Burkett)

Joe’s sister Caroline Burkett had some viewers distracted as they tried to work out where they recognised her from, with one posting on X: “I’ve seen her in something and I can’t place it.”

I can put you all out of your misery and reveal that she played Jane in the long-running BBC sitcom Outnumbered - is that ringing any bells now?

Yep, Caroline from Fool Me Once was previously Jane in Outnumbered.
