Netflix viewers can't get over editing 'mistake' during Missing You that features multiple times

Eagle-eyed fans managed to spot a repeated editing error in one tense scene

Viewers with an eye for detail reckon they have managed to spot an editing error in Harlan Coben's new series, Missing You.

People in the UK have been engrossed by the five-part thriller - starring Rosalind Eleazar, Ashley Walters, Richard Armitage and Sir Lenny Henry - ever since it landed on Netflix last week.

But while most Brits have been busy concentrating on the intricate plot, others have been on the lookout for any mistakes which made the final cut.

And low and behold, people have managed to find one.

Netflix fans have had plenty to say about the series since it dropped on 1 January, especially regarding that mind-boggling ending.

There was also a flurry of online conversation about the surprise celebrity cameos, GK Barry's random role and of course, what other Coben series we should watch next.

It's hard to believe that the US writer, who acted as the executive producer for Missing You, managed to squeeze so much drama in the five-part show.

It follows Detective Kat Donovan (Eleazar), as she finds her former fiancé Josh (Walters) on a dating app over a decade after he suddenly disappeared.

She's also desperate to find out the truth about who really killed her father Clint (Henry) and ends up finding out the hard way that some secrets are best left buried.

During the course of her investigation, Kat ends up stumbling upon a few skeletons in her dad's closet.

As she begins to unravel the mystery surrounding Clint's death, the cop decides to confront her mother Odette (Brigid Zengeni) to find out how much she knew all along.

Kat rushes over to the family home to have it out with her mum, who is cooking in the kitchen.

At the beginning of the emotional scene, we see Odette sporting a stripy t-shirt, an apron and a silver multi-layered necklace - with three layers, to be exact.

As the mum tries to worm her way out of the tense chat, viewers saw Kat then trot over to the kitchen island and produce a damning photograph of Clint.

The camera then pans to Odette, who has got guilt written all over her face - but some observant fans noticed she also appears to have lost a layer of her necklace.

In the close-up shot, the actor is seen wearing what appears to be the same necklace, but this time it only has two layers.

Fast forward a few seconds and we see tempers really beginning to flare between the mother and daughter - but miraculously, Odette appears to have found her missing layer.

She is seen sporting the trio of beaded chains once again, only for one to disappear again moments later.

This back-and-forth has been spotted taking place several times in the scene, but only a few attentive viewers managed to pick up on it.

The likely reason for this 'error' is that the Missing You scene was shot in numerous takes before being spliced together.

Hats off to the team for their editing skills though, as we probably wouldn't have guessed it wasn't one and done if it wasn't for the necklace.

And while we're talking about things we might have missed... did you spot Coben's clandestine cameo in the series?
