The Perfect Couple fans point out show's biggest flaw as Netflix viewers can't look past it

Once you notice, you can't unhear it

The popular sitcom How I Met Your Mother once had an episode entirely focused on the characters telling each other the flaws that each of them had ignored in the other.

A glass shattering sound would play, and suddenly, the characters could no longer look at each other the same way.

Whether it be their loud chewing, propensity for correcting, or annoying catchphrases, once the genie was let out of the bottle - there was no putting it back in.

And this appears to be exactly the same experience that some The Perfect Couple viewers are similarly going through.

The show may be great fun - and is the current number one show in the globe on Netflix - but once you hear this one complaint some fans have, you’ll be unable to unhear it.

It started with one viral tweet about the show, with one viewer saying: “The perfect couple on netflix is a perfect show. Every single person has a different accent even though they’re all supposed to be american—except for nicole kidman, who gets to use her real accent, and there’s also a dance sequence.”

They then followed up in the replies by saying: “It’s so bad I can’t stop watching.”

Viewers in the reply then pointed out that not only does every single person have a totally different accent, despite them all being supposed to be American - Nicole Kidman isn’t even using her own.

She’s using a British one instead. For some reason.

One viewer said on X: “My husband thinks I'm insane when I say after two lines of dialogue ‘that actors not American’. I'm always right, I can always hear it. How can noone else?!?

"But no, that's not Nicole's accent, not close to Aussie. Took me 2 episodes to realize she was supposed to be English WTF.”

Meanwhile, another went so far as to say: “the way nicole kidman’s accent in the perfect couple is american, british and australian all in one.”

Someone else commented: “The accents in #ThePerfectCouple are insane. The house doesn’t even look like it costs $500k. Everyone is a d**k. Nicole Kidman’s wig is frizzy as hell. 10/10.”

One Perfect Couple viewer also added to the discourse, writing: “I love how the characters in the perfect couple on netflix have at least three different accents from three different regions!”

Some may think it contributes to the terrible campiness of the show, while others may think it outright is just terrible - but either way, you won’t be able to unhear this once it’s been pointed out.

So good luck trying to forget it while watching the show.
