A brand new streaming service has launched in the United Kingdom and it poses a major threat to Netflix for one big reason - it's free to watch.

Known as Tubi, it was made freely available for those in the UK from today (2 July) with 20,000 films and television programmes currently available to watch at launch.

With a quarter of Americans using the service every day (a staggering 80 million), bosses are hoping it can achieve similar success across the Atlantic.

Aussie business mogul Rupert Murdoch is behind the venture through his business Fox Corporation.

Films you can already watch on the platform include Twilight and Happy Gilmore. But as well as those more mainstream blockbusters are a whole load of movies that people and critics love.

We are of course talking about the famous Rotten Tomatoes ratings, which countless people live and die by when sitting down to stream a film.

Despite only launching today, there are dozens of films on Tubi with outstanding Rotten Tomatoes scores.

As always, there are two ratings - one from critics and one from the general audience. They don't always line up, with critically-acclaimed flicks trashed by the masses.

And on the flip side, people fall in love with movies that critics said weren't very inspiring.

Making the list is the likes of Citizen Kane, which scores almost perfect ratings across the board with it accepted by may as the greatest film of all time. There is also comedy Hunt for the Wilderpeople, which gets 97 percent with critics, and documentary Deliver Us From Evil, scoring a perfect 10/10 with Rotten Tomatoes critics.

With that in mind, we've rounded up the best films you can watch on Tubi as of launch day. Happy browsing:
