We all know that both Sydney’s SupaNova and Melbourne’s Oz Comic-Con are like hallowed grounds for fans of… Pretty much anything. For those that are fans of audiobooks like Sunrise on the Reaping, The Lord of the Rings, Project Hail Mary, Fourth Wing and more, Audible threw down the gauntlet — Can you conquer their Secret Library, putting your knowledge, and puzzle-solving skills, to the test?
And literally hundreds of fans, most decked in next-level cosplay, took on the challenge.

With queues lining up around the escape room at both locations, word was quick to spread that this was the must-do challenge at both SupaNova and Oz Comic-Con. With five different challenges ahead of them, you could overhear groups of friends trying to figure out what awaited them. What they did know, however, is that every group to make their way through the library would be gifted three free months of Audible to help uncover new faves, or revisit old classics.
Oh, and one lucky winner would win a trip for two to New York Comic-Con later this year, complete with return flights, accom and spending money.

Each challenge within the escape room was inspired by a different audiobook, but entry itself required punters to solve a puzzle. With a library card in hand, they had to solve a riddle in which the answer lay in clues around the room.

With only a minute to execute each task, the stakes were high and the countdown was well and truly on. Luckily, fans aren’t fans for no reason, and many were able to rely on their love of these audiobooks to help them crack the code and escape the secret library.

It was a huge effort from all involved, and a big thanks to everyone who came through and made Audible’s Secret Library such a huge success.
