People believe John Krasinski will appear in Oppenheimer after pic goes viral

People believe John Krasinski will appear in Oppenheimer after pic goes viral

The rumour mill is churning hard.

Many believe that John Krasinski has a secret cameo in Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer after an A-lister pic goes viral.

Yesterday (July 11), it seems the Oppenheimer cast let their hair down in between hitting the press junkets hard for the upcoming film.

Robert Downey Jr., who plays real-life American businessman, Lewis Strauss, in the biographical thriller, shared a pic of his castmates to his social media.

He captioned the photo: “Linking up with my Oppenheimer cast mates...wait, is that a Krasinski photo bomb or might there be a surprise cameo???”

The Iron Man star was snapped sitting next to Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, and Cillian Murphy - who all have confirmed roles in the movies - while The Office star does not.

While Krasinski may have just been playing the part of the dutiful husband, accompanying his wife, Emily Blunt, for a couple of bevvies with work colleagues, that didn’t prevent the rumour mill from churning hard.

One person wrote: “Here for the post-credits Krasinski cameo.”

Another joked: “Spoiler alert: The bomb explodes and the scene cuts to Krasinski looking at the camera! (Theme song from The Office).”

A third commented: “If Jim from The Office is in it. It must be good.”

While another said: “Are you going to play no-no Moustache Man in the movie.”

For those of you playing at home, The upcoming film is based on the 2005 novel American Prometheus by Kai Bird and Martin J. Sherwin.

The film follows Murphy portraying real-life physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer, who is working alongside a team of scientists to build the world's first atomic bomb during World War II.

It’s the first biopic Nolan has directed; however, it's not the first time he's worked with Murphy, who has appeared in his Batman trilogy, Dunkirk and Inception.

And while Krasinski isn't a confirmed cast mate, we do not doubt that this epic pic will blow us away.

The film is slated for a July 20 release.
