As the year slowly but surely draws to a close, people are taking a look back at the highs and lows of 2022 - and this includes Pornhub.
Now, the popular adult content website has revealed the most searched categories of this year.

No, seriously, regardless of how much porn you watch - even if you watch none at all - the Pornhub analytics this year are pretty surprising.

To kick things off, the most popular porn star in the US was Abella Danger, who knocked the previous winner Lana Rhoades off the top spot.
While we Brits might have a lot in common with our friends across the pond in some areas, porn isn't one of them, as, despite her very brief stint in the adult industry, our most searched performer was Mia Khalifa.
You know - the now former porn star who made a splash when she performed in a hijab.
But while the results might be a bit surprising, what will really shock you is the most searched-for category worldwide.

It's not MILF, stepsister or any of the classics, but in fact, hentai.
This marks the second year running where non-human pornographic material has been the most popular category on the website.
In case you're unfamiliar, hentai is a porn that is made from anime and manga.
The analytics from Pornhub don't just reveal popular searches by country and category, but by gender too.

There, there is a slight split between men and women. While Japanese is the most viewed category for men, for women it's lesbian porn - although it is worth noting that Japanese - which includes hentai - comes in second place for women.
It turns out that people developed some new tastes in their favoured adult material in 2022 as well.
Us Brits - for whatever reason - decided to search 'naked wrestling' 376 percent more often and there was a 295 percent increase in searches for 'older women'.
American tastes changed as well, with 'gamer girl' increasing in popularity by 813 percent.
While people's tastes in adult content vary from person to person, it's also interesting to note that the average user spent around a second less on Pornhub in 2022.

The average visit now lasts 9 minutes and 54 seconds.
Perhaps this is a reflection of the fact that the world has - generally speaking - opened up again in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.
In case you were wondering, Brits spend an average of 10 minutes and five seconds on the website.
The quickest visitors come from Mexico who get the job done in eight minutes and 45 seconds, while the longest take 11 minutes and 12 seconds and they're from Egypt.
