Ryan Reynolds doing shots in British pub proves he'll be right at home after buying house in UK village

The Deadpool actor seemed right at home as he and co-owner Rob McElhenney drank with Wrexham AFC supporters.

After purchasing Wrexham AFC in 2020, actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have been sampling Welsh, um, culture.

Having been unable to visit their beloved club due to COVID restrictions, the A-listers have finally made it over the pond to visit in person.

To mark their long-overdue first visit, the Hollywood stars celebrated in style at the local pub.

In a hilarious picture uploaded to Twitter by presenter Ben Sheppard back in 2021, both men can be seen smiling for the camera after a few pints in the pub.

Clearly in good spirits despite their team losing the first match, McElhenney even gave a thumbs up as he and Reynolds posed in the football club's caps.

Seizing the opportunity, Sheppard tagged the actors and then captioned the photograph: “Bouncer – ‘you lads good, had one too many?.... Lads – ‘No la, all fine here la’.”

McElhenney was clearly in good spirts.

Whilst you may think that was the end of the night for Reynolds and McElhenney, the co-owners actually continued into the early hours, surrounded by the Wrexham AFC supporters.

A fan later uploaded a photo of the men doing shots of gin at half 11 in the morning, after a heavy night out the day before.

In fact, McElhenney had seemingly skipped the hangover altogether, as It’s always sunny in Philadelphia star quickly downed the drinks, as Reynolds can be seen raising a toast in the background.

It seems there will be a lot more for the Deadpool actor, as he has reportedly bought a house in Marford worth a staggering £1.5 million, so he and his wife Blake Lively can have a permanent base in Wales.

The pair even downed shots of gin the following day.

Reflecting on their boozy first night in Wales, the A-Listers thanks the fans for showing them such a good time.

In the interview with Sky Sports, Reynolds called the night out a ‘privilege’ and admitted that it wasn’t expected when they first set off.

He told the press: “We got to hang out with some of the supporters and have a really good good chat with them.”

McElhenney agreed, adding that both men were shocked by how long the party lasted.

The 46 year old said: “I was expecting to drink, but I wasn’t expecting to do multiple shots of gin, which is exactly what we did.

Reynolds even joked that he was surprised that the group didn’t end up on the pitch that night, to which McElhenney replied: “…yeah, maybe we did!”
