Shane Gillis finds himself in wrong commercial in hilarious video

Have you ever taken the wrong junction while driving on a motorway? Ever hopped on the wrong train?

Maybe you’ve ordered the wrong item of clothing when shopping online? Or perhaps you’ve wandered into the wrong cinema screening and sat through what you thought was a romcom but was, in fact, a horror film? Just me on that last one then.

How about finding yourself in the wrong commercial?

It’s a problem most of us will, in all honesty, likely never encounter. But for actor and comedian Shane Gillis it is very much a reality in the latest in a new series of Bud Light sketches.

The partnership was announced earlier this year and will see Gillis popping up in several new comedy sketches for Bud Light in the coming months. Gillis–who co-wrote the content with comedy partner and director John McKeever–is fresh off his acclaimed Netflix special, Beautiful Dogs and in production on Season 2 of his beloved scripted series, Tires. Gillis is also known as co-host of the number one Patreon podcast in the world: Matt and Shane’s Secret Podcast, with Matt McCusker.

In this particular setup, Shane inadvertently finds himself starring in a stylish perfume commercial. The familiar elements are all there.

Shot in moody monochrome to accentuate the seriousness of the ad? Check.

Leather sofa inexplicably placed down a graffiti-covered alleyway? Yep.

Model with a snake draped around her shoulders? Uh-huh.

The deep, sexy twangs of an electric guitar? You betcha.

A voiceover declaring, “It is not just a fragrance; it is a passion”, as the model writhes seductively over the furniture? Is water wet?

The only thing seemingly out of place is a perplexed-looking Gillis, dressed in a chequered shirt, brown cap and baggy chinos, with a Bud Light in his hand.

Suddenly it dawns on him…he’s in the wrong commercial.

At which point the video snaps into colour and the production team come to a striking realisation. If Shane is there with them shooting what he thought was a Bud Light ad then where on earth is Andre, the other model for the perfume commercial?

Cut to a packed, lively bar where Andre can be seen having the best time, chowing down on chicken wings and enjoying bottles of ice-cold Bud Light with a group of friends.

More comedy content from Bud Light and Shane Gillis will be dropping in the coming weeks, and American football fans can also look forward to gameday fun on both Bud Light and Shane’s social channels throughout the college football season.
