Bizarre Deepfake Simon Cowell Audition Leaves The Real Simon Cowell In Disbelief

Bizarre Deepfake Simon Cowell Audition Leaves The Real Simon Cowell In Disbelief

Cowell thought he had seen it all as judge - but he was wrong.

Simon Cowell was left pulling all kinds of faces after coming face-to-face with his own face – kind of. Watch one of the most bizarre auditions he's ever witnessed here:

Having spent decades as a judge, assessing countless auditions of all different shapes and forms, 62-year-old Cowell could be forgiven for thinking he's seen it all.

But thanks to disturbing technological developments, this has proven not to be the case.

On America's Got Talent, two remarkably unremarkable-looking chaps – from Australia and Belgium – took to the stage to present their company Metaphysic, which uses 'artificial intelligence to create hyperreal content'.

For a second there, Cowell, Sofia Vergara and co could be forgiven for thinking they were now working on Dragons' Den, but before they had chance to panic, the Aussie and the Belgian brought out former contestant and singer Daniel Emmet, and normality was temporarily restored.

That was until crew wheeled out some kind of mysterious mega camera, and Daniel's performance began.

No eyes were on Daniel as he blasted out some impressive vocals though, because projected on a big screen behind him was his face – but with Simon Cowell's face on it.

It was all very disturbing.

Peeping through the hands covering his face, actual Cowell watched on in horror as a lifelike Cowell simulation performed for the crowd.

But by the time Cowell's self-serenading was over, he'd been well and truly won over by it.

"Whoever said is there's no such a thing as a perfect contestant – a great singer who looks incredible – we just found him," Simon said.

He added: "Is it inappropriate to fall in love with a contestant? I know it's strange… but I love you, Daniel."

On Twitter, he subsequently said it was 'one of the funniest (and worst) auditions I've ever seen'.

Vergara was also suitably impressed by the tech, taking the opportunity to have a pop at Cowell while dishing out her praise.

The 49-year-old said: "I cannot even imagine the amount of work to be able to create something so perfect, because if I was not paying attention and I see this, to me, I think it's Simon, 20 years ago, singing."

Heidi Klum was dumbstruck too.

"Honestly, this was the best thing I've seen all day," she said. "And because of you, I'm going to get five more wrinkles, because I was laughing so much."

Safe to say, they got four yeses. I suppose the question now is – who will they deepfake next time?
