Simon Cowell jokes about his own changing face on Britain’s Got Talent

One of the things you have to love about Simon Cowell is the fact he’s able to joke about himself.

The TV mogul was the butt of his own joke during an act on Britain’s Got Talent for which the contestant made an art piece of the faces of Albert Einstein and judge Bruno Tonioli using Rubik Cubes.

All four judges, including Tonioli, Cowell, Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden were stunned by the impressive art piece.

“How the hell did you do that?” Simon asked.

The act, Tom Crosbie, replied: "Practice, lots of different faces. It turns out you have a really difficult face to make Rubik Cubes out of."

"I will change my face... "again," Simon quipped.

The live audience laughed hysterically while viewers at home also thought Cowell’s joke was hilarious.

“I change my face… again Simon,” one fan tweeted along with a laugh-while-crying emoji.

While another viewer gushed: “God I love the banter on #BritainsGotTalent #BGT Simon saying outright he might need a new face.”

The X Factor mastermind is aware that fans have noticed his changing appearance and last year he announced he’s not planning to have any more Botox because of how it made him look.

The 62-year-old admitted he had ‘gone a bit too far’ with his past treatments and at one point barely even recognised himself in the mirror.

"There was a stage where I might have gone a bit too far. I saw a picture of me from ‘before’ the other day, and didn’t recognise it as me first of all,” he told The Sun last year.

“Eric [Simon’s son] was in hysterics. Enough was enough. There is no filler in my face at all now. Zero.”

He added: “There was a phase where everyone was having their faces pumped full of this and the other.

“But actually, for me now, a lot of it comes down to healthy eating and drinking tonnes of water.”

It was not the first time Cowell poked fun at his own appearance, even calling his previous years on BGT the ‘Botox years’.

He was aghast watching old clips of the talent series in 2019.

He saidL: “I love watching 'the Botox years.’ All of us [the BGT judging panel] are like, 'Christ, we had a lot that year. Not so much that year… maybe a bit too much that year’.”

He added to The Mirror: “You know, the old clips of us are hysterical, Amanda’s [Holden] always like, 'What was I thinking?', I said, 'Well, I don't look a lot better.' I look all right now, but certain years it was like, 'Wow, I don't know what was going on’.”

Being this self-aware is a talent in itself!
