Irish hearts were broken this afternoon after Ireland were knocked out of Euro 2016 by France.
The travelling boys in green put in a hard fought effort against the hosts, going one nil up within two minutes thanks to a Robbie Brady penalty.
Antoine Griezmann leveled the scores just over ten minutes into the second half, before bagging his brace to make it 2-1.

Shane Duffy was sent off in the 65th minute, leaving huge amounts of pressure on the shoulders of the ten man Irish team. From that moment, it was pretty much over.
Their heroic effort against Italy in the group stage, and valiant effort against the French, unfortunately wasn't enough to secure a place in the quarter-finals.
It was tough to see some of the reactions.
There's no shame in bowing out at this stage to the favourites of the competition.

Stand up for the boys in green.
