Despite the event involving two middle aged men going for eight rounds of boxing with each other, it appears that Snoop Dogg on commentary has emerged as the real star of Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr's drawn boxing match last night.

Yes, while the two veteran fighters slugged it out in the ring, Tha Doggfather sat by the side of the ring offering up some 'expert' analysis, pausing only to belt out a few of his classics between fights.

Some of that analysis included describing the two former world champions' fight thusly: "This s*** like two of my uncles fighting at the BBQ - 'Get your uncle outta there, get him out!'

"'Meet me in the back, I'm tired of this s***, come on!'

"Get up in there, Roy! S***, in and out!"

Told you it was an illuminating insight into the sweetest science.

Anyway, the punters lapped it up, and that's pretty much what this entire event was about anyway.

One wrote: "Are y'all listening to my man @SnoopDogg call this fight. I don't know about the rest of y'all, but I'm loving this. Snoop's the most entertaining part of this fight. He's doing fantastic."

Another said: "The MVP of tonight gotta be SNOOP DOGG."

A third wrote: "It's 2020 and we are watching Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones Jr... with Snoop Dogg commentating.

"I f***ing love it."

As for the fight itself, it was scored by the unofficial panel as a draw after eight two-minute rounds.

While 54-year-old Tyson was the winner on many observers' scorecards, the ringside judges deemed that 51-year-old Jones Jr had done enough for a share of the spoils.

Elsewhere, YouTuber Jake Paul delivered a savage knockout on former NBA star Nate Robinson, which caused some from within the boxing world to suggest that maybe celebrity boxing isn't the best idea.

Seven-weight world champion Amanda Serrano argued that someone inexperienced could get 'really hurt' after Robinson required medical attention in the ring following the stoppage.

She said: "They need to stop this stupid celebrity boxing thing,

"Boxing is a serious game. Nothing to be doing for YouTube likes.

"Most amateurs turning pro fight four rounds, these guys are debuting in a six-rounder. Someone's going to get really hurt one day. Not cool at all."

However, as Robinson lay prostrate on the canvas, Snoop Dogg said: "He'll be alright, he's from the hood. Nate's gonna shake that off."
