Stephen Fry, aged 64, recently gave a speech during the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations, in which he comically commended the Queen for having ‘tolerated’ a staggering amount of Prime Ministers during her reign.

A popular British TV personality, Stephen Fry’s career has spanned 4 decades. When he was studying at Cambridge, he was heavily involved in the Cambridge Footlights Revue comedy group. His performances alongside actors such as Hugh Laurie and Emma Thompson were televised as part of ‘The Cellar Tapes’ in 1982, Fry’s first on-screen appearance.

Since then, he has consistently been a feature of both the small and big screen, starring in films such as 'Wilde' and 'Love & Friendship.' As for television, Fry acted in a variety of comedy shows such as 'Blackadder' and also hosted the panel quiz show 'QI' from 2003 through to 2016.

What is Stephen Fry’s net worth?

As of 2022, Stephen Fry has an estimated net worth of $40 million (almost £31,900,000), according to Celebrity Net Worth.

Fry is openly gay, and married his husband, Elliott Spencer in 2015. More recently, Fry played the role of a closeted Tory MP in the hit show It’s a Sin which deals with the HIV and AIDS epidemic in London during the 80s.

Amongst this long list of achievements is his work as a voice actor. He is possibly most well known for the voice behind the Harry Potter audiobooks. As for writing his own stuff, Fry has penned his fair share of books. From Greek mythology ('Mythos: The Greek Myths Retold') to autobiographies ('The Fry Chronicles'), he generally has things covered.

Outside of the entertainment world, Stephen Fry is a passionate supporter of mental health charities. In 2011 he became the president for Mind, and over the years the 64 year old has openly discussed his own experience of bipolar disorder. Mind describes their president as a man who embodies the charity’s values: credibility, trustworthiness and authority.
