Steve-O opens up about the 'horrific details' of the 'most painful injury ever'

Jackass star Steve-O decided to create 'an explosive ending' for his show, and landed himself in some serious pain

Steve-O has revealed the gory ‘horrific’ details behind an injury that he ranks as his ‘most painful’ ever. You can see the video below in which he explains the full story:

Now, as you can no doubt imagine, the Jackass star has had a few injuries over the years.

During the many shows and movies that he recorded with the boys, as well as Wildboyz and Dr. Steve-O, he was bitten by creatures, stuck things into places that they shouldn’t go, and played around with all manner of explosives.

In this instance, it was the explosives that got him into trouble, though he's never far away from it anyway.

However, as he explains in the YouTube video, this is also a tale of love and companionship, as he remembers how it brought him and his fiancée Lux Wright closer together.

It started – as all classic romance tales do – with Steve-O setting out to blow up his living room to create content for his latest comedy tour.

Of course, Steve-O's story ends up in hospital.

That meant hiring a pyrotechnics specialist, who started him off by blowing up bananas and watermelons whilst he was holding them.

Then, they moved onto a tea cup filled with rocket fuel, but even then Steve-O was emerging completely ‘totally unscathed’.

That – of course – wouldn’t do.

“I thought I gotta get kinda hurt,” he explained.

Here’s where the problem started.

“We just sprinkled way too much rocket engine fuel all over the living room carpet, and I laid in it and did snow angels,” he continued.

“Now candidly, what happened next was not approved by the professional fire guy.

“When my buddies lit that stuff, right away I knew I f***ed up.

“I knew it was bad right away.

“So, I went to the hospital that night, and they didn't think it was a big deal.

“They gave me some antibiotics and sent me on my way.

“The next morning, I woke up with the most hideous f***ed up blisters, s*** that I have not seen on anyone else, not on the internet, not anywhere, was all over 15 percent of my body. But going off for what they told me at the hospital the night before, I figured – well - I'll just let it ride.

“So, I got on an aeroplane and flew to Denver to go do shows in a comedy club.

“It was obviously a serious situation, so I went on social media and got male nurses to come treat my wounds in the hotel room.”

His injuries turned out to be pretty significant.

Yeah, things were not improving.

He went on: “This is where it got horrific.

“I had a different nurse come to the hotel every day and none of them said you should go into the hospital.

“So I just rode it out, and each day the pain got so much worse.

“I was screaming to the point that we were getting noise complaints in the hotel room.

“Then finally five days after I got burned, I went to the hospital.

“Doctors looked at me like ‘what the hell have you been doing for the last five days you idiot? You need emergency surgery’.

“The purpose of the operation was to carve the burns off of my body.

“I don't know if they use the potato peeler or what, but they cut off the burns and then grafted on cadaver skin.

“I s*** you not I had the flesh of exactly seven different dead people grafted onto my body which is a new meaning for give me some skin.”

You’re probably wondering when the romance comes into this story.

Well, here we go.

“While I was in surgery, Lux got on an aeroplane and flew to Denver herself to be with me.

“When I woke up I was with Lux and the pain was gone, but they told me I had to move around because if the grafts held a certain way I would lose mobility.

“So, we had a dance party.”

Cute.

Anyway, despite the pain and surgery, Steve-O eventually admits that he got ‘an explosive ending’ for his show.
