A woman who once appeared on the TLC reality show My 600-Lb Life has had a miraculous transformation.
Tamy Lyn Murrell weighed 591lbs (42 stone) when she appeared on the reality show seeking the help from Dr Nowzaradan in 2018.
She struggled with overeating since she was a little girl and recalled the tragic moment she witnessed her dad collapse and die from a heart attack in her house.

Tamy’s mum also struggled with the loss and she said she felt like she lost both of her parents because of her mum’s grief. Her addiction to food worsened over the year as she ‘became a hermit’ and struggled to get out of bed.
“The first thing that happens every morning is I get out of bed and my stomach nearly hits the floor. It just hangs there. It is putting intense pressure on the rest of my body,” she said on the show.
“My belly is sagging more and more, and it feels like I’m always off balance. Living in my body is miserable.”
The grandmother was filmed struggling to get out of bed as the weight of her body affected all her limbs.

She has now made a huge change to her life with the help of Dr Nowzaradan and has since shared the results.
Tamy underwent bariatric surgery which has helped her lose an incredible 246lbs (17.5 stone). She has shared pictures of her new physique on Facebook after having the ‘distended mass’ of her stomach removed.
Viewers will recall watching Tamy struggle as he got up from her bed, with her stomach almost touching the floor.
Now, Tamy has refreshed her wardrobe to match her new physique and in one picture, she looks unrecognisable wearing a black and white blouse with black shorts.

In another picture, Tamy can be seen working out in the gym. She also shares pictures of her as a doting grandmother.
Viewers often share positive comments on Tamy's page, with one person writing: "Just wanted to say congrats on ur weightloss im so proud of you. I remember ur episodes ur a nice lady and i was rooting for u I'm so glad u succeeded ur an inspiration."
Another follower wrote: "You look amazing!!", while someone else wrote: "You look awesome."

Another wonderful update for Tamy is that her relationship with her husband James appears to be going strong. Just before she got gastric bypass surgery, he dropped the bombshell that he had been unfaithful.
On Christmas Day in 2019, Tamy revealed via Facebook that James proposed to her again and on 4 May, 2021, she shared that it was their wedding anniversary.
