The Chase host Bradley Walsh's most annoying habit shared by Anne Hegerty

Perhaps this is why he's not invited to join the Chasers' group chat...

The Chase star Anne Hegerty has revealed host Bradley Walsh's most annoying habit on the hit ITV quiz show.

Anne appears on the series as her alter-ego The Governess, and though her character might be fictional, she uses her real life genius to try and beat out the competition from contestants.

As for Bradley, he's a hit with the viewers, often bringing the laughs by cracking jokes - or in some cases just chuckling at hilarious questions.

But sometimes this can go a bit too far, as revealed by Anne in a new interview with the Daily Star.

The 64-year-old former I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! star said: "He sometimes has the tendency to chat on and on and on with contestants.

"And we're sitting down at the bottom with The Chase's producer, who doubles as the show's editor, and he's like, 'For goodness sake, Brad! This is all coming out,' and makes snip gestures."

Perhaps this is the reason that Bradley's not a member of the Chasers' special group chat.

This was revealed by Jenny Ryan, aka The Vixen, who also spoke to the publication at this year's National Television Awards.

The topic was brought up while discussing whether there's any rivalry between the Chasers on the show.

Anne said: "There isn't really, nobody wants to be the worst Chaser but if someone is having a bad day the rest of us will circle the wagons, because no one likes having a bad day."

Although the Chasers all get on, Jenny explained: "There's a little bit of rivalry, there's a lot of different stats and I think we are all top on one of the stats.

"We have the Chasers group chat, which no, Bradley isn't in. We'd drive him up the wall and he'd drive us up the wall."

She continued: "Sometimes Brad does act a little bit dim to wind us up and he pretends he doesn't know a thing.

"When actually [he's] incredibly one of the most switched-on humans there is, he's just doing it for a joke.

"Also, when he drinks too much coffee in the morning he talks a bit too fast too."

Earlier this year, it was revealed that The Governess was forced to step away from The Chase after contracting Covid.

She was replaced by Issa ‘The Supernerd’ Schultz, who has been popular on the Australian version of the long-running series.
