Dwayne Johnson gets emotional as he makes a fan cry with sweet gesture

Even The Rock sometimes wears his heart on his sleeve.

Dwayne Johnson has admitted to being overcome with emotion while signing an autograph for a passionate fan in Mexico City.

As the press tour for the wrestler-turned-actor’s latest movie, Black Adamkicks off, The Rock has been sharing intimate moments with supporters eagerly anticipating the new flick at red carpet premieres.

However, one moment proved too much even for Johnson, who appeared to be speechless as a fan handed him a replica of his WWE championship belt.

As The Rock penned his initials on the belt, the fan visibly shook and cried as he thanked the A-lister.

The fan was so overwhelmed that the poor bloke even dropped his pen as the movie star handed it back to him.

The Rock posted the sweet interaction on Instagram with the caption: “An emotional night. Lots of tears of joy. Even my cold, dark soul gets a little emotional when I see people start to break and cry. It’s a beautiful thing. THANK YOU MEXICO. I love you back.”

Many fans were touched by the video as one person wrote: “I’m glad to know I wasn’t the only one about to cry with your visit.”

Another shared: “Man's apple watch heart monitor was about to blow.”

A third commented: “How do you feel when grown men cry for you like that?”

While another said: “I'm so glad you singled him out... that's a legit fan not some autograph seller.”

The 50-year-old is currently gearing up for the release of the DCEU film Black Adam, which stars him in the titular role, playing a corrupted anti-hero trying to clear his name and reputation.

The character first appeared in DC comics in 1945 and it's the first time the superhero will be depicted on the big screen.

The San Andreas star is joined by Aldis Hodge, Noah Centineo, Sarah Shahi, Marwan Kenzari and Pierce Bronson.

Brosnan will play Kent Nelson/Doctor Fate, a member of the Justice Society of America and son of an archaeologist who learned sorcery.

Despite his lengthy resume and being one of Hollywood’s top-billed actors, Johnson said the role is ‘a once-in-a-career character’.

He told Total Film: “After being in this business for many years, Black Adam is a once-in-a-career character. I realise, going in, you’ve got one shot, and the pressure’s on.

"You’ve got to dive headfirst into the fire. Because, also, the superhero genre has been busted wide open in the greatest of ways in our business, and has been responsible for some of the greatest movies ever made. So that’s the measuring stick.”
