A disturbingly accurate simulation has revealed what people might see after taking psychedelic drugs, and the results are mind blowing.

If you're the type of person who is interested in what taking drugs might feel like, without actually having the desire to do them, this video is probably the closest thing you'll get to understanding the experience.

The simulation was created by an artist called Loka, who decided to channel his 'passion for exploring the mind's deeper dimensions', by creating these audiovisual simulations that 'push the boundaries of perception'.

In this particular clip, which has been shared and explained by TikToker @contemporary100, has received thousands of comments from people who have experienced the high of psychedelics and have confirmed the haunting accuracies of Loka's work.

"This is probably the best and only good representation of what it looks like to trip," one person wrote, while another added: "I can confirm, this is what you see. It's quite cool if you're not freaked out by it."

A third commented: "That is the most accurate visual I've ever seen for the hallucinations."

When asked to describe the experience himself, the artist recalled seeing 'indescribably complex patterns embedded in surfaces, inanimate objects breathing, moving, warping, colours shifting and cycling through different hues and shades'.

Loka has used CGI to replicate these effects and it certainly seems he's been successful in channelling his drug-induced visions onto the screen for others to experience.

Meanwhile, others have commented that while the visuals are absolutely accurate, there's so much more to the experience than can be captured in a video.

Users have reported feelings of euphoria, while others have described experiencing anxiety depending on the setting in which the drugs are taken and the mindset they're in at the time.

It goes without saying that we would never encourage anyone to take drugs, especially psychedelics which come with a number of psychological risks. They can cause 'bad trips', which cause panic and confusion and even cause users to put themselves in dangerous situations.

Latent mental health issues can also be triggered by psychedelic drugs, as well as causing a risk of HPPD, or hallucinogen persisting perception disorder, where the visual alterations experienced while high don't go away after the trip has finished.
