Warning: Spoilers Ahead

Brand new behind the scenes photographs have been released from the upcoming series of Killing Eve. And it doesn't look like good news for one of the show's main characters, who appears to come a cropper.

Ominous snaps taken during filming at London's Liverpool Street Station show assassin Villanelle (Jodie Cromer) crouched over the motionless body of her boss and mentor Konstantin Vasiliev. What?

Has she killed him? Is she trying to save him? Is he dead? So many questions.

But it's not all bad news. While the new series may spell the end for him, it looks like it could see the return of the show's title character Eve (Sandra Oh) who we thought had passed on after being shot by Villanelle at the end of season two.

However, by the looks of things, she is fit and well, with a photo of the MI5 op sitting on a bench at the train station. Definitely not dead.

Will season three bring about the end of Konstantin?

However, by now we should know not to get too attached to characters in the show, and who knows, maybe Konstantin is alive and Eve is actually dead - this could just be some bizarre flashback.

Basically, though these pictures have definitely whet our appetite for the new series, they may not really be telling us anything at all.

What we do know is that sources close to the show have told LADbible we can expect the new series to air on BBC One in 'June or July'.

As with previous seasons, the show is expected to be released in April first on BBC America, coming to the UK after the season has completed its run in the US.

So she wasn't dead?

It is understood the whole series will then be made available on iPlayer after the first episode has aired on BBC One.

So not too long now until we get to see what follows on from the dramatic season two finale, which saw assassin Villanelle shoot Eve and leave her for dead following a tense stand-off in Rome.

Not a great deal is known in terms of what we can expect plot-wise, apart from these most recent set of pictures and previous snaps, which revealed that Villanelle will at some point dress as a copper and point a gun at someone in a car.

The new series will hit screens in 'June or July' this year.

We do know, however, that Suzanne Heathcote - who previously worked on Fear the Walking Dead - has taken over from Emerald Fennell as lead writer and executive producer.

Phoebe Waller-Bridge, who wrote the first season and is an executive producer, said: "I'm very excited that the Killing Eve baton is being passed onto another incredible writer for season three.

"We can sleep soundly knowing these characters are safe in Suzanne Heathcote's hilariously murderous hands."

We also know that this season will not be the last of Killing Eve - which should be a comfort to you if you decide to binge your way through the third season on iPlayer.
