Chris Evans Expected To Return As Captain America

Chris Evans is expected to reprise his role as Captain America, despite saying he was finished with the character after Avengers: Endgame.
As reported by Deadline, the 39-year-old actor is currently in talks with Marvel Studios bosses to negotiate a deal.
But the entertainment news outlet reports that it's not likely there will be another solo Captain America film, rather something similar to Robert Downey Jr's performances as Iron Man in Captain America: Civil War and Spider-Man: Homecoming.

The news may come as a surprise to Marvel fans after Chris stated in July 2020 that he wouldn't be suiting up again.
In an interview he said he's had a 'great run' and believes it would be 'risky' to come back after ending on such a high note.
He was quizzed on The Graham Norton Show about his time as Steve Rogers in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Norton asked Evans - who tuned in via video link - if it really is the end for his take on Captain America, to which the star responded: "Yes, I think it is.
"It was a great run and we went out on such a high note that it would be risky to revisit it in my opinion. It was such a good experience and I think it's better left that way."
Evans appears to have been mulling this one over for some time, having previously spoken about his reluctance to return to the character after hinting in a tweet back in 2018 that the fourth Avengers film would be his last.
Officially wrapped on Avengers 4. It was an emotional day to say the least. Playing this role over the last 8 years has been an honor. To everyone in front of the camera, behind the camera, and in the audience, thank you for the memories! Eternally grateful.

He went on to divulge a little more on the matter in an episode of Variety's 'Actors on Actors' interview series last year, when he sat down with Marvel co-star Scarlett Johansson.
On the potential of playing Steve Rogers again, Evans said: "You never say never. I love the character. I don't know.
"It's not a hard no, but it's not an eager yes either.
"There are other things that I'm working on right now. I think Cap had such a tricky act to stick the landing, and I think they did a really nice job letting him complete his journey.
"If you're going to revisit it, it can't be a cash grab. It can't be just because the audience wants to be excited."
Fingers crossed he's had a change of heart.
