The midwestern gothic tale will land on the streaming service in just over six weeks, with a release date of 16 September.

The movie was written by Antonio Campos and Paulo Campos and will feature Riley Keough, Jason Clarke, Haley Bennett, Mia Wasikowska, Eliza Scanlen, Harry Melling and Pokey LaFarge, as well as those already mentioned.

The film is an adaptation of Donald Ray Pollock's 2011 novel and set in a fictional town called Knockemstiff, Ohio.

Netflix's synopsis reads: "Set in rural southern Ohio and West Virginia, The Devil All The Time follows a cast of compelling and bizarre characters from the end of World War II to the 1960s.

"There's Willard Russell, tormented veteran of the carnage in the South Pacific, who can't save his beautiful wife, Charlotte, from an agonising death by cancer no matter how much sacrificial blood he pours on his 'prayer log'.

"There's Carl and Sandy Henderson, a husband-and-wife team of serial killers, who troll America's highways searching for suitable models to photograph and exterminate.

"There's the spider-handling preacher Roy and his crippled virtuoso-guitar-playing sidekick, Theodore, running from the law. And caught in the middle of all this is Arvin Eugene Russell, Willard and Charlotte's orphaned son, who grows up to be a good but also violent man in his own right."

Replying to the first look pictures, one person wrote: "Spider-Man, Batman, The Winter Soldier and Pennywise all in one movie."

Another added: "I haven't even seen a trailer. But I'm definitely going to watch it because of this amazing cast."

Netflix

Chris Evans was part of the original cast but had to pull out due to scheduling conflicts, according to Variety. He was replaced by Sebastian Stan, who played The Winter Soldier alongside Evans' Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
