Sunday Brunch's Tim Lovejoy Hits The Deck On Live TV

The host was jumping about a little bit too enthusiastically

Viewers tuning into Sunday Brunch today were left in hysterics after host Tim Lovejoy went flying.

The show had barely started, with Tim announcing: "We're here, you're watching Sunday Brunch live from the television centre. I'm Tim Lovejoy, yay!" before doing a little jump.

He was so seemingly so delighted that he then attempted another jump and that's when things went wrong - the poor fella immediately stacked it backwards.

Thanks to social distancing, his pal and co-host Simon Rimmer wasn't even able to help out, saying: "I can't even help you up!"

Tim got himself onto his hands and knees before getting to his feet and carrying on with the show... or attempting to, but it was difficult with the whole crew in stitches.

He continued: "On the show this morning... Izzy, stop laughing! On the sofa this morning, we'll be joined by Maya Jama... Why's everyone laughing, it really hurts!"

On social media, viewers at home added insult to injury by piling in to take the p*** - well, it's got to be done, hasn't it?

One person wrote: "@SundayBrunchC4 @timlovejoy that has been the best laugh I've had all week!

"The country needed that moment. #SundayBrunch #timlovejoy I mean I hope you are ok... but it was the best start to the show I've ever seen!"

While a second posted: "One of the funniest things I've seen in a long while. Live TV, C4, Sunday Brunch. He's okay, thankfully."

A third wrote: "@timlovejoy stacking it live on air cheered me right up #sundaybrunch."

Even Take That's Gary Barlow stuck the boot in:

That's the danger of live TV, I suppose - if you make a fool of yourself, there's no chance to have it edited out.

Fortunately for Tim it seems as though it was only his ego that was bruised in the fall, as the Channel 4 show's official account tweeted to say: "Well that's one way to start the show! Be careful @timlovejoy."

This was followed by a second post that read: "We can confirm Tim is okay."

Glad to hear it.
