Starring the likes of The White Lotus' Theo James and Ray Winstone, the series is set to land on Netflix this year.

The series will be centred around Eddie Halstead (Theo James), who has just inherited a large estate from his father, but he soon finds out that the land it is on has become a part of Mickey Pearson's marijuana-growing empire.

Mickey Pearson is played by none other than Matthew McConaughey in the movie of the same name, a drug lord with a criminal empire in the UK.

The Gentlemen will be Guy Ritchie's second TV series, almost 25 years after his last, Lock, Stock... which was also a spin-off of one of his films, Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, released in 1998.

The trailer is presented in typical Guy Ritchie fashion, with several close-ups of characters synced with the music, as well as a good amount of blood and violence to whet the appetite of his fans.

Theo James is set to star in Guy Ritchie's first TV series since 2000.

Among the cast are Breaking Bad's Giancarlo Esposito, Snatch's Vinnie Jones and Skins' Kaya Scodelario to name a few.

With a star-studded cast and a legendary film director behind the project, the hype has been building for this series, which hasn't been given an exact release date yet.

Production for the Netflix series wrapped in June 2023, with fans expecting a date to be announced soon.

The 2019 film of the same name was released to positive reviews from critics and performed handsomely at the box office.

Stars such as Hugh Grant, Colin Farrell and Charlie Hunham featured in the film, which grossed over $115 million (£90 million) at the box office against a budget of just $22 million (£17.2 million).

Legendary British actor Ray Winstone makes an appearance at the end of the trailer.

One user said: "so excited for this!! there's no one like Guy Ritchie!"

Another fan showed their excitement at the casting: "So excited for this! Theo James renaissance!"

Some users also expressed their desire for some of the film's actors to make an appearance.

One fan shared: "I hope Hugh Grant’s Fletcher makes an appearance, what a character," followed by two laughing emojis.

Another said: "This is exciting I hope Colin Farrel[l] and Hugh Grant’s character makes an appearance those two were a treasure to watch."

The Gentlemen will be exclusively available to stream on Netflix in 2024.
