The public has spoken - after a massive LADbible poll in which 40,000 people voted, The Chase has been named the UK's favourite game show.
The Beast is going to be delighted.
Before the results were in, a number of small screen staples duked it out in the Battle of the Game Shows poll, the first round in the quarter finals seeing Tipping Point prove The Weakest Link was, well, the weakest link.

Next up was The Chase vs Who Wants to be a Millionaire - and we all know how that turned out.
The next stage of the competition had Deal or No Deal up against Catchphrase, the latter bagging the spot in the semi-finals - sorry Noel, it was a 'no deal' from the public.
And last but not least, Pointless beat Countdown to make the final four.
The semis had just as many voters offering their opinions, as Tipping Point was up against Catchphrase, followed by The Chase vs Pointless.

The results left Tipping Point vs The Chase in the final, the latter taking home the gold.
Those who didn't make it to the quarters included Bullseye, Family Fortunes, The Price is Right and Mastermind.
Despite some of these shows running since the '70s, turns out a blend of nail-biting competition, competitive quizmasters and Bradley Walsh's hilarious antics bagged the crown for the ITV, beating out competition from close runner-up Tipping Point.
Many of the fans were delighted that The Chase bagged the top spot, with one user commenting on Instagram: "Best of the best."

Another wrote: "Is this a shock to anyone?" while a third tagged a friend, writing, "Worthy winner? I'd say so lad!"
On the other side, some aren't going to be too pleased with the outcome. One gameshow fan said when the poll first dropped: "If Golden Balls doesn't win we riot." Oh dear.
Jokes aside, the majority vote went to The Chase fair and square - and it's not just you lot who agree.

This time last year, the show was voted The Best Quiz Show at the National Television Awards. Prior to this, it won the award for Best Daytime Programme at the NTAs back in 2017 and was nominated in 2018 in the same category.
The show itself is on each evening and sees contestants go up against a professional quizzer who attempts to stop them from winning the cash prize.
The quizzers (aka 'chasers') include Mark Labbett (The Beast), Shaun Wallace (The Dark Destroyer), Paul Sinha (The Sinnerman), Jenny Ryan (The Vixen) and Anne Hegerty (The Governess), all of them bringing their own unique brand of genius to the table.
Plus their interaction with contestants has led to some absolute belters over the years - the chasers and participants alike aren't afraid to get their claws out in the name of good daytime TV.

Since first airing back in 2009, The Chase has gone on to gain nationwide popularity, many noting host Bradley Walsh's amazing one-liners and uncontrollable fits of laughter as some of the reasons they just keep tuning in.
So, this one goes out to Fanny Chmelar, Gobbler's Knob and the unforgettable contestant who taught us you can never shout 'PASS' too many times.
