Five Additional Episodes Of Rick And Morty Season 4 Coming Soon

Last month marked the return of one of the most bizarre cartoons on television. I am, of course, talking about Rick and Morty.

But once the excitement of its long-awaited fourth season had died down, fans started asking why there were only five episodes scheduled when they had been promised 10.

Well, if this sounds like you, there's no need to panic, because one of the show's stars Spencer Grammer (who plays Summer) has assured us all there are five more eps still to come, which we will hopefully see very soon.

Speaking to Collider, the actor said: "You'll see some pretty dynamic [stories] for Summer coming up. We have, I think, two more episodes airing in this chunk. And then we have another five coming out eventually, sooner than later.

"And then we also have, I know they're working on season five. I hope we do get to explore more from her background and the future and just in general."

Grammer is currently putting the finishing touches to the second half of season 4, having recently finished recording episode 10.

She said: "I just recorded 4.10 when I was in LA a few weeks ago but, those change a lot. I'll be going back to do pick-ups probably for some of them. They're revising and then re-writing certain things. So, we're not finished yet but yes, I recorded all of them so far."

It was one of the show's creators Justin Roiland who initially promised fans 10 episodes in season four.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, he said: "This new season will be 10.

"We're rolling right into the next batch. The plan has always been to get them out quicker."

And if the producers had their way, we would be enjoying much more Rick and Morty than the 10 episodes we're getting - although the possibility of extra episodes may be hampered by the fact that season three was supposed to have more than 10 episodes, but the team ran into creative difficulties.

Co-creator Dan Harmon told the same publication back in 2017: "I would like to think I've learned enough from my mistakes in season three that we could definitely do 14 now, but then I have to say, 'Yeah but you're the guy who says we can do 14 who turned out to be wrong so we're not listening to you now'.

"The nice healthy way to approach this is I want to prove it with the first 10 of season four - prove it to ourselves, to production, to the network - that it's so easy that we'll earn additional episodes."
