This clip shows the horrific moment a contestant on the Australian I'm A Celeb is repeatedly bitten on the face during a trial.

Toni Pearen, a former host on Australia's Funniest Home Videos, was taking part in a jungle trivia challenge.

The 48-year-old had to put her head into a box of snakes to win for her camp-mates and she definitely had to put a graft in for it.

When she first saw the snakes in the box, Toni shouted: "Oh s**t! Far out! Oh my god, I hate snakes."

With the carpet pythons slithering around her in the box, one suddenly sprang out and bit her on the cheek. In shock, Toni shouted "Oh my god!" but once that snake recoiled, others started launching themselves at her face. She was bitten on the nose and chin as well.

Co-hosts Julia Morris and Dr Chris Brown looked on in shock as she continued to be bitten by the creatures.

At the end of the ordeal, a medic was shouted on. A stunned-looking Toni was covered in bite marks, as a medic told her to catch her breath, saying: "You're fine, everything's under control."

She goes on to have cotton wool pads and an antiseptic lotion dabbed on her face by the medic as she holds back tears and is visibly shaken.

One of the host reassures her there was 'no venom in those bites'. Well, that's OK then.

She then breaks down, telling them: "You have to get me home to my kids."

The other contestants try to comfort her, telling her she did a good job.

The clip was shared on the show's Facebook, with fans full of support for the actress after her traumatic time, with some suggesting it shouldn't have gone ahead when she was getting hurt.

One wrote: "Toni was amazing to cop that and keep going but really, they should have stopped the game and removed that snake. I was so upset and could hardly watch and Toni was so brave. I was crying along with her."

Another said: "Crying with you! That was so horrid to watch and slightly distressing, I know this is a show and everyone enjoys a bit of action but that was a bit over the top I hope someone went in and checked on her and talked with her through that I don't doubt for a second she had a nightmare that night."
