Viewers Shocked By Contestant's Answer On Tipping Point

Well, she did say geography isn't her strong suit

Viewers were left gobsmacked by a contestant's answer on Tipping Point - which was so incorrect she should have been immediately booted off the show. Watch here:

Host Ben Shephard asked contestant Jess: "Which Dutch city is widely known as 'the international city of peace and justice'?"

Jess was then given the choice to pass the question to competitor Adam if she wasn't sure, but fearful he knew the answer, she decided to take it on.

She said: "I'm not very big on my geography, but 'cause I think Adam knows it, it's worth a guess."

'Not very big on my geography' was then revealed to be a rather large understatement.

Jess continued: "So, Dutch cities... I think they're Belgium, and Bruges, are the two I'm thinking of. So I'm gonna go for Belgium."

Unfortunately though for Jess, Belgium isn't a Dutch city, let alone the international city of peace and justice - it's a country.

Jess did say that geography isn't really her thing.

Bruges wasn't really a better guess either, because again, it's not a Dutch city - it's in the country, Belgium.

To make matters worse for Jess, Adam didn't have a scooby either, so she could have passed to him and spared her blushes.

Adam guessed Geneva, the Swiss city, prompting an understandable 'wow' from Shephard.

Like the host, viewers at home couldn't believe what they were seeing:

The correct answer was The Hague, or Den Haag, which is home to the International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Court.

Not knowing this is nothing to be embarrassed about - but guessing Belgium or Geneva definitely is.
