Bad Bunny has hit out at the backlash over the announcement that he'll be doing the half time show at the next Super Bowl.
The Puerto Rican musician was recently announced as the halftime performer for Super Bowl LX and some people got more than a little bit angry at him for accepting the gig.
It's supposed to take place on 8 February, 2026 and apparently ICE agents will be in attendance according to US Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.
She said that the only people who should go to the sporting event were 'law-abiding Americans who love this country' and was then asked whether this was an attempt to send a message to the NFL over booking Bad Bunny.

Her response was to say: "They suck and we'll win and God will bless us, and we'll stand and be proud of ourselves at the end of the day, and they won't be able to sleep at night because they don't know what they believe and they're so weak. We'll fix it."

Anyhow, Bad Bunny (real name Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio) recently appeared on Saturday Night Live to hit back at those who'd had something of a serious reaction to him getting the job.
He said: "I’m very excited to be doing the Super Bowl, and I know people all around the world who love my music are also happy."
The singer then switched to Spanish and said: "Especially all of the Latinos and Latinas in the world here in the United States who have worked to open doors.

"It’s more than a win for myself, it’s a win for all of us. Our footprints and our contribution in this country, no one will ever be able to take that away or erase it."
Bad Bunny then jokingly switched back to English and told the show's audience 'if you didn’t understand what I just said, you have four months to learn'.
As part of his monologue he joked that 'I think everybody’s happy about it – even Fox News', prompting SNL to cut to several Fox News clips spliced together so they said: "Bad Bunny is my favourite musician and he should be the next president."
Somehow we're in the position where a musician getting booked to play a gig is a controversial thing which leads to immigration officers being ordered to attend the show.

Bad Bunny knows there's been some backlash to it, but he appears to be dealing with it in the best possible way, by making fun of it.
