The I’m a Celeb camp has been left in tears after a heartbreaking admission by boxing legend Barry McGuigan.

McGuigan, who is a former boxing world champion, opened up about the death of his daughter.

The moment was touching, with the camp coming together to support Barry.

Dean McCullough, the Radio 1 DJ, asked McGuigan if he goes to church much.

Barry heartbreakingly replied: “I used to go to church a lot but after my daughter… you know, not so much,”

“She had leukaemia, when I was making The Boxer with Daniel Day Lewis, three weeks from the end I had to leave because she’d been diagnosed with leukaemia.

“They thought she wasn’t going to get better but she fought back and she won it. She had two years of chemo.”

He then broke down in tears, with Tulisa from N-Dubz and McFly’s Danny Jones consoling the former boxer.

Tulisa reassured him that he was ‘strong’.

Viewers joined the camp in their tears over the moment.

One fan said: "barry crying = me crying the man is just a big cuddly teddy bear with a huge heart"

Another said: "PROTECT THIS MAN AT ALL COSTS.."

A third said: "Absolutely moving scenes in camp tonight. So brave of Barry to open up, share and let out all of those emotions, important reminder it’s okay not to be okay".

Several, however, were pointing to this year's cast reaction.

One said: "Probably most likeable cast in years."

Another said: "Nah guys, the producers need to get a raise because this is the most likeable cast we've had in AGES".

A third posted a crying gif saying: "Loved how supportive the full camp was for Barry".

McGuigan's daughter Danika died of cancer in 2019, his only child.

Danika was 11 when she was diagnosed with Leukaemia and, though she was able to survive the ordeal, she later developed bowl cancer and passed away aged 33.

In a previous interview with the Late Late show, McGuigan said: "I know there are loads of parents who have lost their children and I know how devastating that is, how hard it is. My heart goes out to all of them".

"They will understand just the pain of everyday, it's the same.

"She was such an important part of our lives in everything, even my four grandchildren - my latest grandchild is Mila Nika McGuigan.

"And every time I look at them I think of her and she loved those kids. She loved Tadhg, who is my first grandchild, who she loved and spent so much time with."
