The social experiment sees a group of 16 housemates live together in a home for a number of weeks without access to the outside world.

Now, Big Brother's return has looked to be a successful one, with almost six million votes cast in the final, which featured first place Jordan, second place Olivia Young, third place Henry Southan, fourth placed Yinrun Huang and fifth placed Noky Simbani.

Last night (17 November) it was Jordan who picked up the £100,000 prize after spending 42 days in the house.

On her second-placed finish, Olivia, a dancer from Glasgow, said: “I’ve said from the get-go as soon as you open your mouth in that house you become part of the firing line, sometimes it is easier to be quiet, you carry less of a weight on your shoulders if you just keep your mouth shut.

“But I would not be me if I didn’t open this big, fat gob.”

On placing third in the competition, food writer Henry added: “I honestly never expected to be here and I am shocked. It genuinely has really, really impacted me and I think I am leaving a much better person.”

However, it was Jordan's iconic, six word reaction to winning which viewers still can't get over.

As soon as his name was announced as winner, Jordan said: “I can pay my council tax!”

One person tweeted: "A worthy winner from day 1! 'I can pay my council tax' iconic! Well done Jordan!!!"

Someone else said: "Obsessed with Jordan saying ‘I can pay my council tax’ after learning he’d won £100,000."

Another added: "Jordan saying 'I can pay my council tax' is b****y hilarious."

A fourth also wrote: "DESERVED!!! Absolute king. Where the hell they found him I do not know but he’s one of the best housemates EVER. Congratulations Jordan!"

"Thank f**k for that!!! Well done Jordan, always been in my top 3 (with Trish and Yinrun!)," another added.

"Authentic and consistent throughout. Well voted public!!! V interested to see Jordan’s excited happy face shortly."

Fourth place Yinrun, a customer support agent, also said: “I would say I had the best time of my life in the house.

“I was very shy in the first week especially. I was the outsider. I gained more than I paid in this process.”

Placing fifth, Miss Universe Great Britain 2022 winner Noky added: “I think I kept it real throughout and I think people respected that consistency and that’s why I am here.”
