People in stitches at ‘funniest moment on British television’ that nobody saw coming

They just don't make telly like this anymore, do they?

If there's one thing that us Brits do right, it's television.

You just can't buy the comedic timing we have in the classic shows on our side of the pond, even if our US counterparts might have bigger budgets and boujier sets to work with.

But forget the likes of Only Fools and Horses, Gavin and Stacey or This Country, as it's reality TV which really allows our senses of humour to truly shine.

Take Airline, for example - you just can't recreate that kind of hilarity the days.

The 'fly on the wall' series, which aired on ITV, gave people a glimpse of what it's really like to work for a travel firm, as well as all the goings on with passengers, ground workers and flight crew which take place in between.

Although it may sound mundane, people reckon the show was actually pure magic... and that one certain episode might hold the crown for having the 'funniest moment on British television' in it - which nobody saw coming.

I told you, comedic timing is our speciality.

Anyway, let's get into the side-splitting snippet from Airline that is currently doing the rounds on social media as it has managed to leave people in stitches.

In the footage, a passenger named Gemma Robinson is letting rip after finding out that her luggage has been lost.

She explains to the camera that she is stranded at the airport as a result of this, because her house and car keys were packed inside of her case, which was no where to be seen.

"No car keys, no flat keys, no home keys," Gemma fumed. "We've just got to sit here and we don't know whether they are going to get on the next flight or not.

"We still don't know where our bags are, we still don't know how to get them and I still can't get in my home."

She began to get a bit teary-eyed at this point, but soon composed herself as she headed towards another desk to get hold of a member of staff from the airline to unleash her anger.

Hilariously though, the worker who ended up dealing with Gemma's query was for some reason sporting face paint which made her resemble a tiger - and it made for great telly when the camera suddenly panned to her.

The passenger doesn't even seem phased by the woman's animal-themed makeover and continues to kick off about her misplaced luggage, saying: "So nobody knows anything about anything?"

The tense exchange made for some really amusing content, which has managed to give social media users the giggles over the last few days, resulting in it being hailed as one of the funniest moments in British TV.

One person wrote on X: "Not the face paint. So unserious."

Another joked: "Clearly staff being over worked yet again! Children's party at 5, denying people their flights by 6."

A third laughed: "Tiger Woods behind the desk."

While someone else added: "It could be a scene from The Office."

Others suggested that the airline employee might have found herself in a predicament similar to that of Young Kenny in Phoenix Nights when he could not get rid of his tiger face paint.
