Channel 4 have really been hitting it out of the park with their sex-focused shows recently, and Open House: The Great Sex Experiment looks like another success.

For those of you who haven't been watching and prefer something a little less sensual on a Saturday night, the show challenges couples to start swinging in order to build 'thriving relationships without monogamy'.

So, if you got hooked on watching a lad lose his virginity live on TV during the recent Virgin Island series, the good news is you can now watch couples experiment with other swingers.

However, while the explicit sexual content was relatively minimal in that show, it seems as if Channel 4's other series jumps straight to the gun, with Tom and Lauren the latest couple to join in with the fun, after one girlfriend got jealous after watching her partner have an orgy with six others in an earlier episode.

After Lauren watches on as her boyfriend has sex with another woman, they meet with non-monogamy coach Effy Blue to discuss how Tom can repay the favour, and it wasn't something he seemed all that comfortable with, much like a certain Spanish man Montoya was when he was put in the same position.

Effy said: "Today is about challenging Tom to be independent. I'm curious to see how that will affect the dynamics they have between them."

Tom, who has become reliant on his partner since getting a heart diagnosis, is asked to take part in a couple swap which will see them both independently have sexual experiences with another couple, something they've never done before.

Lauren tells the camera: "It was my idea. It was my idea from the start.

"Yes it's throwing me and Tom in the deep end... But to be able to have him to have the confidence that we can go off, have our fun, come back to each other at the end of the night and it's absolutely insane."

For Tom though, it was more in pain than insane as he headed upstairs quickly, having confessed to feeling sick when the idea was first brought up by Effy, and vomited in the toilet.

"This is going to be horrible," Tom says.

Lauren comforts him by saying: "I just want to cuddle you.'

But he replies: "I feel absolutely petrified and sick."

The show has worked wonders for other couples however, with one guy getting over his nerves to enjoy a 'fivesome', while another couple of childhood sweethearts let go of their innocence by sharing their bodies with some of the others staying in the house.

Open House: The Great Sex Experiment airs on Friday on Channel 4 at 10pm.
