Europeans can't understand how The 1% Club final question is 'so easy' on US version of show

The US gameshow left viewers asking if Europeans are 'different'

Viewers are getting fired up over the US version of the 1% Club after they reckon the final question was far too easy.

In the UK, we have our own version of the show, which is hosted by beloved quick-witted comedian, Lee Mack, and to be honest, even our show has faced criticism over ‘easy’ questions. However, it’s nothing like what Europeans are saying about the US gameshow.

It was the episode which aired in season one, episode 11, which saw a baffling amount of people stumped at increasingly easy questions, with the final Q being so easy that people have been wondering whether ‘Europeans must be different’.

It all began when the contestants were asked: “Which of these heavy sleepers has had their picture turned upside down?”

The panel were then shown three images, one of a Koala sleeping in a tree, a red panther lying on a branch and then a bat… upright.

Hmmm, we wonder who could possibly not be sleeping upside down like they usually are.

Obviously, it was the bat, but people amazingly got it wrong.

One viewer speculated: “I wonder if the 3 that got the 1st question wrong will be voting on 4 Nov? Can they even write.”

While the first question left viewers raging over how easy it was, the final one took the cake.

Right at the end of the show, where the remaining people battled it out to become part of the 1% most intelligent people of the nation, Jared and Steve were asked: “The Pacific Time Zone is 3 hours behind the Eastern Time Zone, and Daylight Saving Time put the clocks forward one hour at 2 a.m. on March 12, 2023. When it was 4 a.m. in New York on March 12, 2023, what time was it in Los Angeles?”

Of course, the answer was midnight and both Steve and Gared made it to the final two people to battle it out, but commenters were stumped by how it was supposed to be worth a 5% question, as it was far too easy.

One person wrote: “How was the time in LA a 5% question? They just told you the difference is normal 3 hours but daylight savings moves the clock forward an hour at 2am local time, 3+1=4, so if it's 4am in NY it must be midnight in LA, not too hard at all.”

People were also left scratching their heads in the middle of the show during the 50% question which saw the panel asked: “What would this person see if they looked in the mirror?”

This was followed with four images to choose from showing an original image of a girl holding a sunflower above her head and other images which were slightly altered or inverted.

Now, I don’t know if you know this, but when you look in the mirror, you see exactly the same thing, so it was shocking to find that a lot of people on the show chose incorrectly.

Someone commented under the video: “Easy to see this is an American quiz. How are all of the questions so easy?”

Another wrote: “I got all of them right. maybe in Europe we are different.”

However, other viewers were just as stumped.

A person wrote: “I was doing so well until I got tripped up by the 50% question in the latter game.”
