A Golden Balls contestant was once left distraught after their counterpart savagely celebrated in their face.

One classic episode that may have gone under the radar sees Tracey and Steve both bluff their way to the final of the ITV show, which ran for six series between 2007 and 2009.

Watch below to witness the brutal last words of one contestant:

Hosted by Brummie comedian Jasper Carrott, Golden Balls follows a group of four contestants who try to figure out which of the 100 concealed balls contains cash, and which ones contain the 'killer' balls.

The aim of the game is for contestants to lie their way out of being eliminated prior to the final - all while being tasked with keeping the big money in play as they get rid of the most 'killer' balls.

Two players are left at the end and decide whether to split or steal the money.

If both contestants chose to split, the prize pot would be divided evenly. But if both chose to steal, both go home with nothing - meaning choosing the steal is one hell of a gamble.

And in one classic episode we saw Tracey and Steve go face-to-face in the final round.

When the all important moment comes, the pair were tasked with deciding whether to split or steal an eye-watering £40,015.

While both contestants look nervously at one another, Tracey reveals her decision, choosing to split the cash sum.

However, Steve savagely choses to steal and keeps the lump sum all to himself.

"When Tracy revealed a split ball I can't really explain how I thought I was just so over the moon?" he said.

While Steve was absolutely buzzing with the result, Tracey was in shatters.

And her last words to him were 'I really trusted you', which is absolutely gutting to see.

Commenting on the verdict, one viewer said: "He stole. He celebrated. He smiled. He clapped. That’s some cold hearted s**t."

Another added: "The moment he decided to high-five the host instead of his teammate when the 40,000 ball came out should have been a red flag."

"The way he reacted to 40k was enough to understand the magnitude of his greed," a third also said.

"I cant even imagine the amount of trust issues she got from this," someone else wrote.

Arguably, the most famous moment on the show came when Stephen was robbed of £100,000 by rival contestant Sarah who scooped the biggest win in the game show's history.

"As soon as the show ended, I was literally head down in tears for 15, 20 minutes. I was devastated," Stephen said.

"I heard one woman shout from the audience, 'You f**king b**ch, I hope you f**king die in hell'. I heard that, and she got whisked straight off the stage.

"When I was in the dressing room Sarah was brought back out to do her end piece to camera. Since then, she's never tried to contact me. She's never spoken to me."
