While it might feel like fans have been waiting for this for years now, the Harry Potter series finally starts on Christmas Day.

And HBO is already working on production for season two, with it recently reported that a young cast member has dropped out.

The excitement continues to build though, with a stacked cast confirmed for this first TV adaptation of J.K. Rowling's beloved books.

If you're one of the Potterheads looking forward to all of this then here's another glimpse to keep you going - a quick teaser for Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone has just been released.

While it might be short, fans have already said it's left them 'tearing up'.

"The music, the vibe, the promise of getting it right this time," one wrote on X. "Christmas Day is now Potter Day. I am so ready to go back to Hogwarts."

The Harry Potter teaser was released as a trailer for HBO's upcoming 2026 slate, which also included looks at season three of House of the Dragon, Stuart Fails to Save the Universe and Lanterns.

This little glimpse today (24 May) sees Dominic McLaughlin as the Boy Wizard, wandering the halls with Hermione (Arabella Stanton) and Ron (Alastair Stout).

We then see him walking out nervously (which to be honest, seems to be theme of his demeanour in this nine-second clip) for a Quidditch match in his Hogwarts house gear.

And rather ominously, we see Anton Lesser as Garrick Ollivander, handing Harry a wand as he says throughout the teaser: "Mr Potter, I think we can expect great things from you. Let's see who you are."

Reacting to the clip, users wrote: "Hogwarts is calling again. Can't wait for December."

Another put: "Christmas Day is going to be movie theatre level production on my TV screen. HBO is really about to take over the holidays. Let’s go!!!!"

And a second wrote: "No matter how many years pass, one Harry Potter teaser is enough to awaken an entire generation's childhood."

Although, some aren't so impressed, as one reckons it 'looks like trash'.
