There is a surprising hidden reason why Ant and Dec cover their watches when they appear on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! and will continue to do so for any live segments on this year’s show.
The presenting duo has been the source of much speculation in the first week of I’m A Celeb over the supposed feud they have with contestant Kelly Brook.
When it comes to blocking their watches, however, it is just the latest behind the scenes detail which gives an insight into what jungle life is really like for the celebs.
Just this week, the location of the ‘fake jungle’ where the celebs stay was revealed, showing what the genuine conditions are like for the contestants. One key aspect of this, however, is that the watch rule is part of a wider plan to bamboozle the celebs.
Why Ant and Dec cover their watches up on I’m A Celeb

Fans in the past have noticed the peculiar detail, with one tweet from last year asking: “Why are Ant & Dec watches covered up on I’m A Celeb?”
Another tweeted: “Is Ant's watch covered because of cameras or because of the sun reflection? @antanddec or am I seeing things?”
This was clarified after people asked by the official I’m A Celeb X account, saying: “Ant & Dec's watches are covered to stop the celebs finding out what time it is.
“They have no idea, as no clocks in camp.”
This was also discussed recently after it was revealed that Celebrity Traitors did the same thing, with Nick Mohammed stating that any member of the crew asked by a celeb would simply reply ‘It’s Traitors time’.
Whilst this has been hotly debated online, the idea they are totally unable to figure out what time it is sure to be a surprise for fans.
What do we know about the ‘fake jungle’ with a roof?

The location of this year’s camp on I’m A Celeb was revealed to be the Springbrook National Park in New South Wales.
Whilst it looks like celebs are simply dumped in the middle of nowhere and left with some cameras, the reality is a tad more complicated.
There is a secret roof which can be used to shield both the campmates and the recording equipment, but an insider was quick to shut down rumours this meant the celebs were living a cushy life of luxury.
They said in an interview with the Daily Mail: “A lot of the camp is not under shelter – it’s not like the roof at Wimbledon.”
Supposedly the roof does not even necessarily cover all of the beds, but it definitely does
I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! is available to watch daily at 9pm on ITV1 & ITVX.
