A former I'm A Celeb campmate has revealed what happens after you're voted out from the famous jungle.

Although it feels like this year's iteration of the famous ITV reality series had only just got started, I'm A Celeb 2024 is just mere days away from the grand finale and, more importantly, Celebrity Cyclone.

Evictions have already begun, with journalist Jane Moore, radio presenter Dean McCullough and N-Dubz singer Tulisa Contostavlos being the first three campmates to be voted out.

But have you ever wondered what happens to the celebrities once they cross the famous red bridge?

Established fans of the series will already be aware that being voted out of the jungle early on isn't always the worst scenario as it means you're treated to a rather nice break at the five-star JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort and Spa, which typically costs around £400-a-night.

That certainly sounds much better than sleeping outside on a hammock and forcing down your daily ration of rice and beans, doesn't it?

However before celebrities are treated to a luxury hotel break they first have to undergo a medical check-up, with ex-campmate Nicola McLean revealing what the first moments outside camp look like in a recent interview.

McLean, 43, competed on the show back in 2008 and finished in sixth place, and while reflecting on her stint in an interview with The Mirror, the former glamour model and TV personality dished the dirt on what her first few moments back in the real world were like.

"Obviously, you do your interview with Ant and Dec, and then you go straight down the red carpety bit - red bridge. Get your pictures taken, see whoever’s turned up for you," she explained, adding that celebrities are then whisked away to see the medic for a post-jungle health check-up.

"You get weighed, and they ask you some questions," McLean said of the process.

For McLean, she had a rather quick turnaround between leaving the jungle, having booked a 'new deal with a newspaper' which meant she didn't have too long to relax after leaving - however, her return to the real world did include two very important trips.

"[For] me, straight for a McDonald’s," she revealed, adding: "And then... my agent met me, she was one of my best friends as well at the time, she said to me, 'Right, you’ve got a photoshoot straight away,' and I was like, 'Absolutely not, have you seen the state of these nails?'

"So we snuck off around the back of the hotel and went to a nail salon first as well before I started working."
