ITV has launched a new iteration of the hit series I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!, with a whole new spin on the show.
Previously, I'm a Celebrity... took to the wilds of Australia, where famous contestants would have to carry out all manner of unpleasant challenges, often involving creepy crawlies, to win extra food for the camp, otherwise having to subsist on basic rations, with viewer voting on who will be crowned king or queen of the jungle.
The show has previously been filmed in Australia, with the exception of the 2020-2021 season when Covid restrictions saw the series moved to Wales.
Now, a new formatting of I'm a Celeb will see two being twists on the reality show, with the new show being called I’m A Celebrity…The Wild Frontier.

This will displace the action from Australia into Canada, swapping out the hot and humid jungle for the far north, though co-hosts Ant and Dec confirmed that the regular version will also still be going ahead.
But the location change is not the only new aspect of the show, with the other being that contestants will compete in pairs instead of going alone.
A press release for the show explained that 'the pairs will eat, compete and be eliminated together as one'.

It added: "Viewers will see the pairings undertake gruelling trials in the beautiful and unknown Canadian landscape and take on action-packed challenges to win food, all aiming to become the last pair standing."
The broader format will stay the same, with viewers voting on who stays and who goes, but voting off pairs rather than individuals.
Speaking about the new show, Ant McPartlin said: "This brand new series is I’m A Celebrity… like you’ve never seen before. It’s a brand new format with lots of twists and surprises.”
Meanwhile, fellow co-host Dec Donnelly added: "We’re also making sure to retain some of the elements that we know viewers love from the Australian series. Buckle up, it’s going to be brilliant.”
As for how the pairs are made up, only one of them has to be a celebrity themselves. The other person could be a relative, friend, partner, or another celebrity.
Katie Rawcliffe is the Director of Entertainment, Reality & Daytime ITV, and said: “I’m A Celebrity…The Wild Frontier is a brand new series from the award-winning I’m A Celebrity… team. The format takes duos to the most spectacular locations in Canada.

"The duos enter as a pair, play as a pair and leave as a pair. With all the brilliant DNA of I’m A Celebrity…, brand new gameplay and the dynamics of living and playing with your spouse, best mate or sibling, it promises to be a treat for audiences in 2027.”
The new series has been produced by Lifted Entertainment, with Creative Director Chantal Boyle saying: "I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! is one of TV’s biggest global formats and the Australian series holds a special place with its incredibly loyal UK fans.
"I’m A Celebrity…The Wild Frontier is a brand new show from the world of I’m A Celebrity and it promises to be dramatic, exciting and truly embrace its spectacular Canadian setting.”
The new series is set to launch in 2027.
