Sam Thompson finally has I’m a Celebrity promise fulfilled on Saturday Night Takeaway

The TV star was living his best life on stage

Saturday Night Takeaway seemed a bit more like an old episode of Stars in Their Eyes when Sam Thompson rocked up.

The TV personality and radio star made a very special appearance on Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly's legendary ITV series last night (30 March) to fulfil a lifelong dream of his.

As you may recall, Sam struck up quite a friendship with Marvin Humes during their time on I'm a A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here last year together - and he finally called in the favour he first brought up during a chinwag in the jungle.

Take a look at this:

The Made in Chelsea star memorably pestered Marvin to teach him some of JLS' trademark choreography while also badgering him to belt out tunes on a daily basis while they were in Australia.

And it seems Sam banging on about joining the boy band on stage like a broken record was a good move, as he accomplished his dreams of becoming the fifth member of the group on Saturday evening.

Viewers tuning into Saturday Night Takeaway - which is set to go on an indefinite hiatus after the season finale on 13 April - were left stunned when JLS brought out their special guest as they performed as part of the 'Singalong Live' segment on Ant and Dec's show.

Three families watching from home had the chance to win £500 each if they were able to guess the missing word while Marvin, Aston Merrygold, Oritsé Williams and JB Gill sang their hit song 'Everybody in Love'.

Before they began, Marvin teased the audience by hinting that their would be a surprise halfway through their performance - although no one was expecting his former campmate to emerge and join them.

Introducing Sam to the stage, the 39-year-old singer said: "Do you know what Dec, it's the moment that we - he - has been waiting for.

"You know that he likes a little bit of left, right, left, right, up, down...For one night only, please welcome your reigning King of the Jungle, Mr Sam Thompson!"

The reality star walked out to a thunderous applause as he bounded over to each member of the band for a hug before getting into full JLS-mode and positioning himself in the centre of the lineup.

Sam stole the show as they belted out a rendition of their track 'She Makes Me Wanna' with a few solo lines and some serious dance moves - and as you can imagine, he was like a kid on Christmas up there.

Discussing his boy band debut, he said: "I’m the happiest I’ve been in my entire life. I had vocal coaches – it was amazing."

Aston even joked that Sam was 'coming on tour with us', so he must have made a half-decent impression on them.

The London-born lad's surprise performance seemed to strike a cord with the British public too as people rushed to social media to share their thoughts on his audition for a spot in JLS.

One said: "Can someone tell me why I’m nearly crying happy tears for Sam Thompson singing with JLS on Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway. He looks SO HAPPY."

Another wrote: "How can you not smile at Sam Thompson living his best life with JLS on Saturday Night Takeaway."

A third added: "Sam Thompson singing with JLS is peak TV. And his mic was LIVE too."

A fourth commented: "JLS feat Sam Thompson is what we needed tonight. @itvtakeaway always making dreams come true."

And a fifth chimed in: "JLS and Sam Thompson just gave the best 3 minutes of TV in 2024. Brilliant."
