Stranger Things has finally come to an end, unless you're a Conformity Gate believer, and fans are still pointing out things that were missing from last week's finale.

After dropping in the early hours of New Year's Day here in the UK, millions have now taken in the divisive finale, which sees the gang defeat Vecna and the Mind Flayer before destroying the Upside Down for good.

The Duffer Brothers had promised that fans would have all of their questions answered in the final few episodes, and that was the case with several hot topics, such as why the Upside Down was created, how Vecna got his powers, and why he took Will in the first place.

However, people were also left with a lot of extra questions after a controversial ending which left many feeling a little underwhelmed, and it's not just focusing on whether or not Eleven is alive after Mike proposed a theory on how she might have survived and escaped the military.

Many are still wondering where the pregnant women from the Upside Down ended up, while a huge number of theories have gone viral in the past week focusing on seemingly minor errors that might point towards something more ominous, such as the changing colours on props and extras staring straight at the camera during the graduation.

And it wasn't just details that fans though that were missing, as there was also a number of notable characters cut from the final few episodes.

Popular characters such as Jonathan's Californian friend Argyle and Dustin's girlfriend Suzie were both absent from season five having played quite a big part in season four, while Robin's girlfriend Vickie also completely disappeared from the finale, despite building up a relationship that many hoped to see have a happy ending in the epilogue.

Max was also in a coma in the hospital for much of the final season, and we surprisingly never see her mother Susan come to visit. Jennifer Marshall, the actor who plays her, has now given a potential reason as to why.

Taking to social media, she posted a humorous video wondering where she might have been, before explaining in the caption why the Duffer Brothers might have chosen not to include her scenes.

She said: "I had cancer, I get it. But I was in remission during the shooting of season five. Shooting would have helped me obtain my health insurance through the union.

"Maybe they had too many characters, idk but obv Susan Hargrove is THE WORST MOTHER EVER LMAO."

She clarified in a later comment that they did shoot a scene of her in the hospital before suggesting a morbid reason as to why it might not have been used, writing: "I think the writers were afraid I’d die so they omitted it."

Fortunately, Marshall is now looking healthy and is in remission and who knows, maybe we will see her appear in the secret episode that is supposedly coming out tonight?

LADBible has reached out to Netflix and representatives of Jennifer Marshall for comment.
