Rejoice, Suits fans; the news we’ve all been waiting for is here.

As of today, it has been confirmed that Gabriel Macht, the man who played Harvey Specter in Suits, is coming back to the role.

Macht, who also served as an executive producer throughout the show, will play the dashing lawyer once again in the upcoming spin-off Suits: LA.

The actor was the co-lead of the legal drama for the first eight seasons of the show, taking on the role of sole lead for the final season, when Patrick J Adams and Meghan Markle departed.

Last we saw the suave professional, he was heading off into the sunset with Sarah Rafferty's Donna to join Patrick J Adams, AKA Mike, in Seattle, having left the law firm the show is based around.

And it's now been confirmed that Macht's character will be making an appearance in the spin-off, which was commissioned after the show's second life on Netflix.

Starring Stephen Amell, Harvey will be joining the show in a limited role for a three-episode arc.

Deadline's report says of his return: "Macht’s stint is a guest arc and is not a precursor to him potentially joining Suits LA full-time."

Amell's protagonist, Ted Black, is a former prosecutor, with Deadline stating this is how Harvey will be introduced into the show.

Macht's Specter's backstory is similarly one of previously being a criminal prosecutor before moving into corporate law.

This is confirmed by Macht posting the below video on Instagram with the caption: "When an old friend is in need…it’s time to take care of things and make those very ‘things’ right."

The video plays the show's iconic opening theme, which will be familiar to many Netflix bingers.

Suits broke records in 2023, with 57.7 billion minutes of viewing on the streamer.

This is the most any show has been watched in a single year on Netflix, which led to the spin-off being announced almost five years on from the end of the original show.

Deadline's synopsis for the spin-off Suits: LA reads:

"Suits: L.A centers on Ted Black (Amell), a former federal prosecutor from New York who has reinvented himself by representing the most powerful clients in Los Angeles.

"His firm is at a crisis point, and to survive, he must embrace a role he held in contempt his entire career.

"Ted is surrounded by a group of characters who test their loyalties to both Ted and each other and they can’t help but mix their personal and professional lives.

"All this happens while the show slowly unravels the events that years ago led Ted to leave behind everything and everyone he loved to start all over."

More to come.
