One of the stars of The Boys has spoken out saying 'we do need to talk about boundaries' after a fan made an 'inappropriate request' of her.

Valorie Curry joined the cast of the Prime Video show in the latest season as Firecracker, a far-right superhero who starts churning out various conspiracy theories.

In the show she also gets close to Homelander (Antony Starr) by promising she will do 'anything' he wants, and since this is The Boys, that means there's not much off the table.

Sadly though, it sounds like some fans of the show seem to not understand boundaries, respect or the basics of social interaction.

Curry said in a video on her Instagram stories that on the first day of Comic-Con Northern Ireland in Belfast 'by and large everyone was fantastic', but sadly there were a couple of people intent on spoiling things.

She explained that while a character she played in The Boys had done 'some pretty extreme things' it was 'not okay and it's not funny to demand those things from me in person'.

It should be a rather simple concept to grasp, but apparently not for two people who attended the convention.

She said: "I don’t care if you are in costume. I don’t care if you are in character – it is not ok and it is not funny to have demanded those things from me in person at my booth. It's not ok.

“Frankly, to the person who did that repeatedly - I made it pretty clear it wasn’t ok and that only seemed to make this person and their friend angry.

"I didn't think this needed to be explained, but I was deeply uncomfortable – it was quite clear I was uncomfortable."

Curry summed it up pretty simply when she said 'honestly you should know better, everyone else knows better'.

Curry had kind words for the many fans who came to see her 'without acting disrespectfully'.

"Thank you to everyone who I have met today, who I have met at past conventions," she said to finish off her message.

"Everyone who is so respectful and kind and who would never dream of acting this way.

"If you are thinking about it, if you think it is going to be a bit or a moment it is not and it is honestly just going to make me feel bad.

"Please think about that before coming up to talk to me. Think about what is appropriate and professional."

She later posted another message on social media thanking the staff at Comic Con 'for taking it so seriously'.

In a statement to BBC News Northern Ireland, Monopoly Events said that actors and guests who attend these events 'are here as themselves'.

"They are not in character or portraying the roles you see on the screen," they explained. "Please treat all of the guests and each other with respect, and be aware that it isn't acceptable to make inappropriate comments regardless of being in cosplay and 'portraying' a character yourself.

"Making a guest, or other person, feel uncomfortable for you and your friends amusement is unacceptable.

"We have a zero tolerance policy to this behaviour and if any guest or member of the public feels harassed, please highlight any concerns you have to a member of our security team.”

LADbible has contacted Monopoly Events for further comment.
