We all know that you can’t take in a lot of basic things to a reality TV show, but you’d be surprised about what the cast of The Traitors can bring.

Ah, it’s another year and another The Traitors season to kick off 2025. What could be better than this?

There’s just nothing like sitting on the sofa and watching a group of 22 people battle it out to figure out who the snake in the grass is.

The show, which is hosted by Claudia Winkelman, sees contestants split into two groups (the Faithfuls and the Traitors).

The Faithfuls are honest people who are trying to win the game by being genuine, whereas the Traitors are exactly what their name points to - treacherous people who try to win by any means necessary.

To get the £120,000 cash prize, it’s up to the Faithfuls to weed out the Traitors, but if they fail and one remains, they’ll have to forfeit it and the Traitor will take it all.

It’s riveting stuff.

But while fans of the show might think they know all there is to know about the show, a new bit of information has been revealed.

A cast member from the season has shared that there is one gadget that participants are actually allowed to use whilst in the Scottish Highlands manor.

Theo Mayne, a former contestant spoke to Screen Time not too long ago and shared that the gadget definitely isn’t your smart phone, sharing: "They take your phone away from you immediately."

But a different type of phone is absolutely fine.

He shared that the cast were handed one of those old-school brick phones that only had Snake and basic texting and calling features on it.

He said: "You are given a handy little Nokia, so you can contact production if you need anything - I remember playing Snake on it. But as soon as you go to the castle, they take it away from you. We were completely immersed; there was no outside world.

"It was just Claudia Winkleman, Scottish Highlands and a castle. That's all, that's everything.”

You might remember Theo, the 26-year-old became a fan favourite before he was eliminated from the show because Amanda Lovett voted him out.

Oddly, she had told him that she trusted him, but in the end, only one person can be the ultimate winner.

Thankfully, all is well with the cast, and he shared that he keeps in contact with a few people.

He said: "I keep in touch with Meryl Williams, Hannah Byczkowski, Alyssa Chan, Amanda Lovett, Claire Barratt and I'm very close to Kieran Tompsett.

"I think when you go through an experience like that with people it bonds you for life. Because I'm only ever going to be able to talk to them about what we've experienced. Because nobody else will understand."

In other news, there was a millionaire on this series and you probably didn’t even know.

Nathan Khider, who was banished, lived in a car before making a load of money.

The 39-year-old landed a job in real estate before going over to the Middle East where he was ‘taking safe risks’ which paid off.

He needs to teach us all his secrets.
