Why Stephen and Rachel won’t have received £95,750 cash prize yet despite being crowned winner of Traitors 2026

The Traitors season four had an explosive finale in which Stephen and Rachel won

The Traitors winners Rachel and Stephen will not yet have received their whopping £95,750 prize money despite having won the show months ago.

The finale opened with James being beaten out by Rachel in the game of chance, meaning that The Traitors season four finale started with the Faithfuls at a massive disadvantage.

Rachel attempted to get Faraaz on side, lying about how she had used micro-expressions and body language to decipher the fact that Jade is a Traitor.

Ultimately though she turned on him, with her and Stephen turning on Faraaz and voting him out in the final four.

In the final three then Jack was heartbreakingly turned on by Stephen, with the Scottish traitor essentially giving up nearly £48,000 in an instantly iconic TV moment.

The winners Rachel and Stephen will not however have got their prize money yet according to season two winner Harry Clarke.

Harry won season two by fooling Molly to take home the prize money in an iconic ending, however by the time it aired he hadn’t been paid.

He said in an interview with The Daily Star: “I’d won, but then I had to go back to work and I couldn’t tell anyone so I sort of just wanted to forget about it.

"Now it’s like reliving it and being able to tell everyone that I’ve actually won The Traitors series two. I felt like I was lying even more.

"I had a month where I had to lie to people and build connections on a lie and then I get home and then I’ve got to carry on lying for four months again, just even about being on the show - let alone winning it.

"So it’s been a relief, last night was a massive relief because it’s like, 'Oh okay, I don’t need to lie for a bit now so I can chill out'."

Regarding the money, he said: “"It’s mad, isn’t it? I can’t really believe it. I can’t even explain it because, well one: I haven’t got the money yet, so that’s probably why.

"And two: I just can’t believe it. Like I still can’t believe it."

Ultimately The Traitors winners being paid when they actually win, rather than when the show comes out, would potentially give away who had won if they had spent the money on any big purchases in the several months since the show was filmed.

Stephen and Rachel have both promised to spend the money on their family, making it a sweet victory - even if the Traitors finally won out.
