After the new series of Channel 4 dating show First Dates aired last night, fans were left absolutely fuming with one big change to the set-up: no more updates on the episode's couples before the credits roll. As in, what is arguably the most crucial part of the show.

Many fans took to Twitter to vent their rage.

One wrote: "Why didn't we find out what happened?! My fave part!!"

Another said: "Wtf happened to the follow up section??! That was the best bit and you've cut it!"

Another fan commented: "So we don't care about what happens after now? Which wise arse thought it would be great to cut that out?"

"Really missed the text at the end of the show with the after the date news!" One said.

British actress Faye McKeever also admitted she was still angry 20 minutes after credits rolled, writing: "20 mins later and I'm still ranging about the no updates at the end of First Dates."

And it was a particularly juicy episode, too, as it saw an awkward encounter between a divorced couple.

Mandy and Stewart split up nine years ago, but have impressively remained good friends - such good friends, it seems, that they were happy to appear on the dating programme together.

But while they were cool with the situation, when the news broke to their respective dates, things turned a little cringeworthy.

Stuart's date, Claire, asked: "Are you joking me? Are you having a laugh?"

Stuart replied: "She's got her life, I have got my life. It is very amicable. We are good friends."

Mandy's date, Adam, also struggled with the news, admitting: "That is quite a shock."

Understandably, he also added that it was the 'weirdest' date he'd ever been on.

Mandy told him: "We are quite unusual for a husband and wife. We got divorced on the internet for 30 quid.

"People who know us really well think there is nothing weird about it. We are just mates."

The divorced couple had also been seated at adjacent tables - because this is TV after all.

It got even weirder when Stuart starting analysing how Mandy's date was going, telling bartender Merlin: "I think he's her type. She was after someone quite tall."

He added: "Someone taller than me - I'm a short arse."

Sadly, though, we'll never know what happened to Mandy, Stuart or their baffled dates...
