Better Call Saul delivered the ultimate fan service with its latest episode by bringing Breaking Bad legends Jesse Pinkman and Walter White back into the fold for a brief but exciting moment.

However, fans have pointed out a massive but unavoidable flaw when it comes to Jesse's return.

The second half of the Breaking Bad spinoff's sixth and final season has been delivering plenty of action, but it was last night's (1 August) episode that really got viewers talking.

Titled 'Breaking Bad', we finally got to see Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul back on our screens as the meth-cooking duo before Better Call Saul bows out for good.

However, viewers at home couldn't help but point out the fact that Paul is now 42 years of age - despite the fact that his character is supposed to be in his early twenties.

Taking to Twitter, one person wrote: "They really should have used some type of deep fake or de-aging for Jesse because Aaron Paul looks good but we can all tell he is in his 40’s now lol."

Another said: "Love how they used every lighting trick in the book to hide the fact that Aaron Paul is like 45 years old lmao."

"Incredibly funny watching 42 year old Aaron Paul trying to pretend to be a 24 year old Jesse Pinkman," added a third.

Others, however, jumped to the show's defence by saying people should pipe down when they've been begging for the characters' return for years.

"Why is everyone complaining about aaron paul being too old 2 play jesse in bcs," wrote one on Twitter. "B***H YOU WANTED THIS!!! Stop complaining and watch the show for god’s sake."

A second chimed in: "Y’all know Aaron Paul is 42 trying to play a 20 year old, right? Like who the f**k cares WATER WHITE & JESSE PINKMAN WERE ON MY TV TONIGHT.

"Just be happy we got this. Damn man."

Aaron Paul could be 65 and I'd still be psyched to see him as Jesse 🤷‍♀️

The news of the pair's comeback was previously confirmed by Better Call Saul co-creator Peter Gould all the way back in April, but details have been kept strictly under wraps up until recently.

Speaking at PaleyFest LA, Gould said: "I don’t want to spoil things for the audience, but I will say the first question we had when we started the show was, ‘Are we gonna see Walt and Jesse on the show?’ Instead of evading, I’ll just say yeah."

At the same festival, Ben Odenkirk, who portrays Saul Goodman, added: "I personally feel that the two shows - Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul - are entwined even more than ever in the final season.

"And I think that’s surprising and cool, and it’s gonna make you want to watch Breaking Bad again."
