Guy Gets Insane Amount For A Packet Of McDonald's Szechuan Sauce

Woah.

Usually when you become enthralled in a television show you find yourself wanting to be a part of that world. You want whatever the characters are having, regardless of if it's fictional or not.

Back in the day it was the elusive Krabby Patty, that ol' Spongebob Squarepants knocked up, that we all wanted a bite of. Sadly, as you grow older, the realisation that they don't actually exist is crippling, making you question whether anything is worth it.

In teenage years and adulthood though, the likes of Los Pollos Hermanos in Breaking Bad is the type of fictional place that gets us salivating.

More recently, Rick and Morty had us craving McDonald's limited edition Szechuan Sauce, but this was a bit different to the exploits of Gustavo Fring and Spongebob. The sauce is real, only it's from a time gone by.

Back in 1998, Maccies launched the one-off sauce to coincide with the release of Disney's Mulan, and after that it became a distant memory.

Thanks to the new season of Rick and Morty, though, the old dip was fresh in our minds, as Rick says that he desires the 'Mulan McNugget sauce' more than anything else.

36,000 people came forward to sign a petition asking McDonald's to bring back the elusive sauce, some to find out what it tastes like, others because their life is ruled by nostalgia.

Whether it'll happen remains to be seen (it probably won't), but for some odd reason someone still had some of the gold dust lying about.

Cashing in on the in demand condiment, they put it on eBay with the description; "I just bought a really old car, while cleaning it I found a packet of this sauce.

"After watching the recent episode of Rick and Morty I went online to see if it was worth anything. Turns out it was. Also this comes with a packet of wasabi as well.

"I hope somebody who wants to eat some 20 year old gnarly sauce gets this. I would prefer not to sell it to a collector."

And sell it he did, for a shit load of money. $14,700 (£11,500) to be exact.

Now more people have come forward with their ancient packets of dip, hoping that someone else is willing to pay an insane amount for it.
