Here it is, guys, the moment you've all been waiting for - the brand-new episode of Salad Fingers has dropped and it's as creepy as ever.

Nice to see our favourite little oddball hasn't changed, isn't it?

The new episode is titled 'Glass Brother' and was funded through Patreon supporters, who were keen to find out what Salad Fingers and Hubert Cumberdale had been up to lately.

Believe it or not, our mate Salad Fingers first hit the Internet all the way back in 2004 and became a viral sensation, before being a viral sensation was even really a thing.

With his love of rusty spoons and creepy voice, Salad Fingers was created by David Firth and is said to have come into existence as a bit of an in-joke between him and a pal.

Last week, Firth teased the new episode and fans were pretty delighted. And so they should be - it's the fans who paid to get this cartoon to fruition, via the Patreon page.

The mission statement for the Patreon read: "This stuff is all really hard work. YouTube ads are a small help, but unless you are putting multiple vids a week, they pay very little. An average project takes WEEKS to MONTHS of solid work, yet roughly makes around $1 per 1000 views in ad revenue.

"That isn't much, especially as YouTube doesn't tend to feature much animation since the 'viewer engagement' doesn't typically reach their standards. To make a living from YouTube revenue I would have to really start cutting corners and making broader stuff to get more views. That is not my style."

Naturally, loyal Salad-fans were quick to comment on the new clip, which does look a lot slicker than previous episodes, thanks to improvements in technology.

One wrote: "Salad fingers, back from the great war?! It's been far too long!"

Another added: "What an experience and the quality improved, too."

While another happy fan posted: "Thanks to Mr. Firth for gifting the world with this long-awaited instalment! This episode was WELL worth having my paycheck docked for returning late from lunch."

High praise indeed.

Nice to have ya back, pal.
